The Mayans believed cenotes were portals to the the gods. There are over 6000 of these freshwater holes in the Yucatan peninsula alone, most of them lost deep in the jungle and impossible to access. We saw 5 in one day of super intense driving and feel like we want to do this every single day for the rest of our lives. One of my fave parts of our holiday so far 💙
