“Why did you join Rebirth?” For many of our refugee artisans, joining Rebirth is about more than just income - it’s about purpose, dignity, and a path forward.

Here’s what they had to say, in their own words. 💬

Refugees in Malaysia come from different backgrounds - Rohingya, Syrians, Afghans, Yemenis, Pakistanis, and many more.

Each carrying stories of resilience, survival, and courage. Though journeys differ, the struggle for dignity, protection, education, and decent work is shared. And that shared struggle should unite, not divide! 🏠❤️

Most people in Malaysia know the Rohingya as refugees. But they are more than that.

The Rohingya are a people with their own vibrant culture, rich in language, food, family traditions, and faith. Behind every label is a person with a story. In a world that often sees them only through crisis, let’s pause to recognize the beauty they carry with them. 🌏✨

Solidarity among refugees in Malaysia is more than a message, it’s a lifeline. 🤝💙

In a country like Malaysia, where many displaced families seek safety, community becomes strength. When one person shares food, information, opportunities, or even a listening ear, hope multiplies!

We asked our team: "What does solidarity with refugees mean to you?" 🌍🤝

Their answers remind us that solidarity isn't just a word, it's action, empathy, and the belief that everyone deserves safety, dignity, and a place to belong.

Refugee youth as young as 15 are working not by choice, but out of necessity. 💔

Without the legal right to work, they take on informal, low-paying, and often dangerous jobs to support themselves and their families. Many have dropped out of school just to survive. Until refugee work is legalized in Malaysia, they remain trapped in a cycle of risk and insecurity.

It’s time to protect their rights, not punish their resilience. ✊✨

With neither legal recognition nor the right to work, refugees in Malaysia face a daily struggle for survival. From unsafe jobs to limited access to education and healthcare, their lives are shaped by uncertainty, exploitation and exclusion.

It's time to confront these realities and push for change. ✊🌍

Compassion and understanding go a long way.

By raising awareness, challenging misinformation, and supporting inclusive policies, we can help build a Malaysia that upholds humanity and justice for all! 🌏🤲

Privilege isn’t about having it easy - it’s about what doesn’t hold you back. 🌍🕊️

For refugees in Malaysia, identity factors like gender, religion, or immigration status often overlap, creating deeper and more complex challenges. These layers of identity can shape access to safety, education, healthcare, and opportunity.

Understanding intersectionality helps us respond with empathy and build more inclusive, compassionate systems where no one is left behind. 🤝❤️

When we ignore intersectionality, we risk helping only the “most visible” and leaving others behind.

When we embrace it, we create systems rooted in dignity, equity, and justice. 🤝🏽✨
