GIVI’s success story continues with the founding of GIVI Asia in the country, and it all kicked-off with the creation of the GIVI Asia’s first factory in Malaysia. With specific bits, jigs and moulds brought in from GIVI Italy, the new manufacturing plant was a technical tour-de force insofar as motorcycle accessory production was concerned. In 1997, the company started manufacturing motorcycle to
p cases and helmets at its manufacturing plant in Bukit Beruntung for both the local and export markets. Since 1997, with further investments from its principal confirmed, GIVI Asia decided to build an extension to the manufacturing plant as part of its continued support for the brand. Thus from the initial built-up area of 8,000 sq.ft., the new extension saw the manufacturing facility expand to a colossal 100,000 sq. GIVI Asia was now set to bring top quality products that meet stringent European and other international standards to the rapidly growing Asian markets and motorcycling world. With the increased number of staff from double digits to more than 120, GIVI Asia produces boxes, helmets, racks for the boxes and windshields for export to Asian countries including Japan. The plant manufactures more than 40,000 units of GIVI boxes, helmets and accessories monthly, with 30 per cent for export and the remaining 70 per cent for local consumption. GIVI Asia started to be active in various launches of new products, marketing road shows and exhibitions from 2003. Present in over 60 countries, GIVI is among the top brands in the world of motorcycle accessories and is also one of the largest manufacturer today. In 2007, GIVI Asia was among the top 20 companies who were presented the Enterprise 50 Awards; followed by The BrandLaureate Awards, awarded as the Best Brands in Motorcycle Accessories 2009-2010. GIVI Asia was once again bestowed The BrandLaureate SMEs BestBrands Awards’12 as the Most Preferred Brand in the category of
Automotive – Motorcycle Accessories. GIVI Asia is also certified as an ISO 9001:2008 compliant organization. This recognitions reflect GIVI Asia’s commitment to maintain a high standard in products and services, and further fuels its desire and commitment to work harder to exceed the customers’ expectations. GIVI Asia also established a further subsidiary in Indonesia, catering to the 16 million bike population in the country. Through its manufacturing arm, GIVI Asia currently exports GIVI products to the entire Asia Pacific markets.
