Throwback to last weekend’s empire cut dressmaking with Cikgu Dayah!

I’m surprised how little I remembered from my classes more than 15 years ago! Somehow it did feel a little familiar as I progressed. I honestly hoped I’ll keep it up and practice more 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

I’ve actually started this in February but there were many distractions that I’ve put it on hold. Now it’s finally completed!

Ginger The Pony is a pattern by Lee Mei Li from her book, Hello Pocket Crochet. I’ve always liked her patterns as, aside from cuteness overload, they are easy to understand! I’ve made mine in pink and red as I thought it suits the current Chinese horoscope, fire horse!

What I’ve used:
Milk cotton yarns and fibre filling

A recap of my previous sewing efforts with Teacher Kim more than 15 years ago 😅 Apologies on the blurry pics taken back then for my old blog.

Of course, I have given back my knowledge to the teacher, so to speak, as I haven’t sew clothes properly in ages! Mostly mending clothes or sewing curtains etc 😅 As such, I’m naturally anxious to start sewing clothes again soon 🙏🏻 Wish me luck 🤞🏻

This is my first time testing a crochet pattern and I was a little worried when I realised I didn’t have the oval shaped eyes! Quickly ordered it and it arrived just nice 2 days before the due date!

Thank you, Mei メイ , for this opportunity and I’ve actually find it a breeze to complete this pattern!

Point to note: I didn’t have acrylic pen so I’ve used good old liquid paper to colour the eyes 😅😅

I’ve used:
- 5 ply milk cotton yarn in white
- DMC Happy Cotton in black
- fibre filling
- oval shaped safety eyes
All from Fabric and Craft Supplies Shop (Malaysia)

Since it’s the last day of July, here’s what I’ve managed to redeem for my birthday month 😘😍❤️ So thankful for all these goodies! There were some I couldn’t claim as it’s expired so never mind, have to be mindful next year 😬 It’s great to be members of these brands!
