Imagine a pastor who calls himself a religious leader saying: "If you’re up to 45 and you’ve never traveled by plane, something is wrong with you."

That reminded me of something an Imam said during Jumu’ah one day.
Months ago, I was in the mosque. The Imam spoke about donations from some wealthy people and prayed for them. That’s a good thing to do.

But I was shocked when he added: "Those that don’t have money should not talk."
People laughed, but I was angry. It wasn’t funny to me. I felt sad.

Religious leaders are supposed to motivate people, not discourage them. Statements like that can do more harm than good.

Many people are struggling and trying to make ends meet. It’s not their fault that things haven’t fallen into place yet. It’s in God’s hands.
We should not look down on anyone. God has the final say.

People come to places of worship to lay their problems before God. Don’t use negative words that chase them away and make them lose hope.

If someone dies at 30, 40, or 50, we say: "They were not too old."
But the same people mock those who are not financially stable at that age and call them failures. That’s hypocrisy and deception.

A message to myself and to every hardworking person who is struggling financially:
Don’t lose hope. Success is coming, and when it comes, it will announce itself loudly.
Keep pushing. You are almost there. Don’t let anyone’s negative words affect you, no matter your age.

Nobody was born a failure. Nobody came into this world with wealth.
When it’s time for your blessings, nothing can stop them. Your hard work will pave the way for you.

Behind every successful person is a story of prayer, patience, strength, and endurance.

Sending you all a hug šŸ«‚ It is well.

KARMA

Episode 5 - The Final Episode_

Time moved fast.

Habibat got married.

On her wedding day, Mama was the one dancing the most. "My daughter is finally going to her husband’s house." She said proudly.
But she forgot one thing: Whatever you sow, you will reap.

-----------------------------

Habibat’s mother-in-law showed her shege.
The sister-in-law too joined.

The same disrespect, the same cold greetings, the same kitchen wahala, the same "you are not good enough" energy that Habibat and Mama gave Nafisat...
She experienced it all. Triple.

Her mother-in-law would reject her food.
Her sister-in-law would talk to her anyhow and keep malice for weeks.
Nobody helped her with chores. Nobody greeted her first.
"For your information, I am not your slave," her sister-in-law told her one day.

Habibat broke down.
She couldn’t cope. The bitterness was too much.
After 8 months, she packed her things and left the marriage.

Late one night, she came to Nafisat’s new apartment.
Her eyes were red. Her pride was gone.

"Nafisat... I’m sorry," she whispered.
"I’m sorry for how I treated you. For how I kept malice. For how I spoke to you in the kitchen. I didn’t know it would feel like this. Please forgive me."

Nafisat looked at her for a long time. Then she hugged her.
"I forgive you, Habibat. May Allah make it easy for you."

---------------------------------

Two years later...

Habibat remarried.
This time, her home was peaceful.
Her new husband was kind. Her new in-laws treated her like their own daughter.
She finally understood what Nafisat had been enduring all those years.

------------------------------

*THE MORAL*
Whatever you do to your daughter-in-law, if your daughter gets married, they will treat her the same way.

Brother-in-law, sister-in-law... whatever you do to your brother’s wife, life will repeat it back to you too.

Be good. Choose kindness.

THE END

Thanks for reading._

KARMA
Episode 4

The news came like thunder.

Nazir got a job with attractive salary. A Year after, he told Nafisat his plans to marry another wife.
And to her shock, Mama was the one clapping and supporting it.

By then, Nazir had gotten an apartment for Nafisat and was planning to move her and the kids there. He had also gotten another apartment for the incoming wife.

Nafisat accepted her fate. She swallowed the pain and controlled her emotions.
After all, the man was now financially buoyant. And Islamically, he was within his rights.

------------------------------------------

The second wife came in. Her name was Aisha.
And from day one, she hated Mama.
But strangely, she liked Nafisat.

Mama regretted her actions. She tried to be good to Nafisat, to be soft. But Nafisat had built a wall. She kept her distance.

Aisha, however, made it clear she would not serve Mama.
She rarely came to visit. And when she did, she never lifted a finger to help with chores.
The day Mama asked her to help wash plates, Aisha looked her straight in the eyes and said,
"I am not your slave."

Habibat was furious. She confronted Aisha.
Aisha confronted her back.
Big words were exchanged. The whole house shook.

-----------------------------------------

Months passed. Aisha got pregnant.
After nine months, she put to bed.

During the child naming ceremony, drama happened again.

Aisha’s younger sister had put three pieces of meat in Mama’s food.
Aisha saw it and got angry.
"Mama heard and asked, 'Why are you angry?'
'That meat is for important guests,' Aisha’s sister replied.

Mama frowned. 'Am I not important? Moreover, it’s my son’s money.'
Aisha cut in sharply. 'And he’s my husband. I have every right.'

Nafisat was there. She just shook her head.
This is what I never did, yet Mama hated me. Now she has finally met her match._

After the celebration, as Nafisat was leaving, Aisha called her.
She gave her lots of food. Several plates, plenty of meat, drinks, and takeaway packs.
Nafisat was surprised.

Aisha had never given Mama such treatment. In fact, when Mama later pulled her aside and asked for more meat, Aisha refused her in the same room.

-------------------------------------------------------------

On her way home, Nafisat sat in the car and all that happened replayed in her memory.

Mama was happy when Nazir wanted to marry another wife. She thought the new wife would come and torment Nafisat, become her rival.
But now, the new wife hated Mama... and liked Nafisat instead.

Nafisat whispered to herself,
"Indeed... this is karma.
God is great."

To be continued...

KARMA
Episode 3

AbdulRahman returned with the food.
"Grandma didn’t collect it from me. She insisted I should go and eat it," he told his mother.

"Put it down and eat the food I dished for you," Nafisat instructed.
She had already dished their food before Mama called for AbdulRahman.

Nafisat thought of going to meet Mama and iron things out, but her mood was wrapped in anger.
"If I go now, I might utter a word out of anger," she thought. So she gave it a second thought and didn’t go until her anger cooled and her mood found peace.

When her husband returned, Nafisat told him everything. He pleaded with her to let it go.
"I will ask her," Nafisat said.
"No need, forget about it," her husband replied.

Habibat, Mama’s last born, started keeping malice with Nafisat. Her mother had told her about the food incident when she returned from work. Habibat was a dentist working in a nearby Dental Hospital.

Despite Nafisat being older than her, Nafisat would still greet her first most times. Sometimes Habibat would respond, but since her mother told her about the food, she stopped greeting Nafisat and barely replied her greetings.

As a good Muslimah, Nafisat didn’t want to keep malice because Islam frowns at it. She embraced peace, while Habibat’s actions and facial expression kept dripping with bitterness. Nafisat chose not to mind.
.........................................................

Later, Nafisat entered the kitchen to prepare pap and met the kitchen in a mess.
They shared the kitchen. Most times, Nafisat was the one who did the cleaning.

She was too tired to clean up the mess, so she called Habibat’s attention to it. Habibat had just finished cooking.
"Are you trying to call me a dirty woman, right?" Habibat asked in an angry tone.
"I didn’t mean it that way," Nafisat replied calmly.
"For your information, I am not a kid. I intended to clean it. You can’t instruct me," Habibat retorted.
