In my secondary school days I was m@dly in love that I suddenly became the most punctual boy in school.

Not because I loved school but because of one girl.

She was our class captain. She was responsible, brilliant, fine and always early. In fact, she used to be the first in class every single day.

Guess who also started getting to class early? Me

Every morning, I would wake up like I had a board meeting. Meanwhile, the only thing waiting for me was a wooden desk and a girl that did not even know I had adjusted my whole sleep schedule for her.

My parents started using me as a good example for my brothers. If only they knew I had a secret agenda.

I had a small broken mirror. Every few minutes I would excuse myself to check if I still look good. I must not be caught unfresh.😂

Here's the interesting part.

This girl used to come to my seat almost every day. He would stand there, gist with me, joke about random things. During break we were always together.

In my head it was confirmed. This girl likes me. Nothing you wan tell me.

Because why else would she always be around me?

But I noticed something I kept ignoring. Every morning when it was just the two of us in class, she was quiet. The energy was different. She was not as lively.

One day I borrowed my seat partners book. We were always together. I was flipping through it when a folded paper fell out. I picked it up and recognized the handwriting immediately.

My heart was beating so fast. I opened it and It was a love letter to my friend.

Before I could even finish reading, he saw me and snatched it from my hand so fast.

Everything started making sense.
she was not coming to my seat because of me. She was coming because of him.

And the painful part? I had told HIM I liked HER before. BOY to BOY.

Meanwhile something had already been going on between them. People had seen them together. They were just keeping it cool in school.

I did not even bother to confront anybody. I was just waiting to get ho

1. He Prioritizes You
• A man who wants marriage makes you a priority in his life, not just someone he “sees when convenient.”
• He invests time, effort, and attention consistently.
• Example: He rearranges his schedule for important moments with you and remembers small details about your life.

2. He Talks About the Future
• Marriage-minded men include you in their long-term plans — vacations, career moves, or life goals.
• He discusses “we” instead of just “I.”
• Example: He might casually mention building a home together, future finances, or family planning.

3. He Shows Respect to Your Circle
• He treats your friends and family with respect and interest, because he knows they’re important to your life.
• Men serious about marriage want to integrate fully, not just date you in isolation.
• Example: He asks about your family’s values, attends events, or shows effort in forming good relationships with them.

4. He Protects and Supports You
• Marriage-minded men look out for your well-being emotionally, mentally, and sometimes physically.
• Support doesn’t mean solving all problems but being there consistently.
• Example: He celebrates your wins, helps you through challenges, and encourages your growth.

5. He Commits to Transparency
• He’s honest about his feelings, finances, and intentions.
• Men who want a future with you don’t play games, hide things, or make you guess.
• Example: He communicates openly about serious topics, admits mistakes, and is willing to compromise.

6. He Talks About Marriage or Commitment Directly
• Eventually, he brings up marriage in conversation, gauges your views, and shows interest in aligning life goals.
• This isn’t a rush; it’s about exploring mutual readiness.
• Example: Discussing engagement rings, wedding ideas, or simply asking how you envision your future together.

Every December, madness dey increase.
People wey never chop well since January go suddenly borrow money to “show face.”

New clothes, loud parties, fake enjoyment all to impress people wey no go remember you in January.

Make I talk am plain:
No be everybody wey dey smile for Christmas dey okay.
Some people dey laugh with loan.
Some dey pop champagne with debt.
Some go enter January already tired.

Why?
Because we confuse enjoyment with validation.
We think say if we no show, we no belong.
But belonging no be competition.

December no be exam.
Nobody go mark you.
Nobody go ask how many outfits you wear or how many bottles you pop.

If you survive the year with your peace intact, you don win already.

January go come sharp sharp, and bills no dey celebrate.

Celebrate within your means.
Rest if you must.
Disappear if necessary.

People wey truly care about you no dey price you with money.
