It began as a harmless hobby…
Looking back now, I realize my love for creating things started very early. Right from my teenage years, I always enjoyed using my hands to create something new. I remember taking my dad’s old trousers and, with just a needle and thread, turning them into a skirt. I would wear it proudly and even take pictures. Back then it felt like simple fun, but little did I know it was the beginning of my fashion journey.
After my secondary school education, I went on to acquire skills in decoration, cake baking, and more. I was receiving contracts and doing quite well in that field. Despite that progress, my passion for fashion design never left me.
During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, while I was still a student in the tertiary institution, I decided to learn fashion design. At the time, my intention was simple, just to sew clothes for myself and my family.
After my marriage, I relocated to Abuja with plans to continue utilizing the other skills I had already acquired. However, I later discovered that my current location wasn’t very favorable for those services. That was when I decided to focus more on my tailoring skill.
What started as sewing only for myself and my family gradually became something more. I began to take it more seriously, improving my craft and taking it to another level.
Though I am not there yet, I believe in taking one step at a time. With consistency and dedication, I know it will only get better.
This journey may have started as a harmless hobby, but today it is becoming something truly meaningful… and I’m excited for what lies ahead.
