Last year two of my students graduated. I couldn’t post it at the time because we had a lot going on in the business.
But seeing this video sitting in my gallery today made me reminisce.

Over the years, I have not taken accepting students very seriously, but moments like this remind me how powerful it is to pass on knowledge and watch others grow.

Both of these students have now started their own fashion businesses, and that alone makes this journey worth it.

Very soon it will be 5 years in business, and I’m grateful that this path has not just been about sewing clothes, but about building people, sharing knowledge, and creating opportunities.
Growth truly comes when what you know begins to grow in others.
The journey continues.

“Peace is part of the service.”

Last week, a client brought her fabrics for me to sew. We picked a style, and when I told her the price, she said, "Ah! My former tailor doesn’t charge like that."

I smiled and told her, “Then you can go back to her.” She paused and said, “But her work comes with too many amendments, delays, and drama. That’s why I came here, you don’t stress me.”

I smiled and replied, “That’s exactly what the extra charge is for, the comfort, the peace, the confidence that your outfit will fit perfectly.”

Because less stress and peace of mind is luxury, and I serve that with every stitch.

Today, I celebrate not just a new age, but a beautiful journey of becoming.

Life has taken me through seasons of laughter, tears, challenges, that tested my strength, and victories, that reminded me who I truly am. Every step, every stumble, every lesson has shaped me into the person I am today.

I look back and I see growth, I see resilience, I see someone who refused to give up even when the path was unclear. I see a soul that has learned to love deeply, forgive freely, and walk boldly in purpose.

Now, I embrace the perfect me not because I have it all figured out, but because I’ve learned to honor my journey, my scars, my wins, and my dreams.

This new year of my life, I step in with gratitude, with courage, and with faith. The best of me is here, and even better is yet to come.

Happy Birthday to me.

Growing up, I watched my mum carry the weight of life with so much grace. She worked hard, earned her money, and never let us lack love or care.

Now that I’m older, taking care of her has taught me what unconditional love truly means. Each time I remember her strength and sacrifices, I feel this fire in me to do more, to be more because she showed me it is possible.

Today is her birthday, and I just want to celebrate my Queen, my pillar, my strength, my biggest inspiration.

Mummy, I love you endlessly. May God bless you with long life, peace, and Joy

I decided to step out without my glasses and this happened...

So the other day i stepped out, I didn't want to wear my glasses just because i wanted to have a new look. Big mistake 😅.

Someone was waving and greeting me from afar, but I honestly didn’t see them. My short-sighted eyes (myopia) betrayed me. Before I knew it, they were upset and later sent me a long text about how I ignored them.

That experience made me reflect on tailoring.

When you sew without the right vision, skipping measurements, rushing through cutting, or ignoring details, mistakes are bound to happen. The dress won’t fit, the finishing won’t align, and the client won’t be happy.

Tailoring and life has taught me this: Always use the right tools for clear vision, don’t assume you can eyeball it and get away with it, Precision is everything.

Sometimes it’s not pride or carelessness, it’s simply lack of clarity. Whether in sewing, business, or relationships, never underestimate the power of seeing clearly.

“When the rain kept me home…”

This morning I got ready for church, dressed up, and called my keke guy. But the rain was too heavy ☔, the roads were flooded 🌊, and he couldn’t come.

So I stayed home. And instead of feeling bad, I took some pictures 📸 and reflected.

It reminded me of tailoring ✂️🧵…
In this profession, you can prepare with the best fabric, cut the neatest pattern, and still face unexpected challenges — a machine breaking down, fabric tearing, or a style refusing to sit right.

Just like life, tailoring teaches resilience: Adjust when things don’t go as planned, Find beauty even in “rainy” moments, and never let small setbacks stop your creativity.

Sometimes progress isn’t about pushing through at all costs, but about pausing, learning, and making the most of where you are.

Happy Sunday.🥰😍

"I want to learn tailoring because my friends are doing it"

A young girl walked into my Office recently with this request: “Can I learn tailoring for one month?”
Out of Curiousity, I asked her why she want to learn the proffesion and her answer shocked me, it was simple: “Because my friends are into it.”

That moment got me thinking and I have this to say to young ones who want to learn any kind of skill.

Fashion like every craft it's not something you do because others are doing it. It is not about trends or peer pressure. It is about passion, patience, and persistence.

I smiled at her and explained further Tailoring is more than cutting and sewing.
It is learning discipline, creativity, and the art of solving people’s problems with fabric. One month cannot give you mastery; commitment and consistency can.
The truth is, in any career be it fashion, tech, business, anything at all. If the only reason you’re stepping in is because others are doing it, you may not last long.

But if you step in because you love it, because you’re willing to invest the time, and because you see value in what it brings then you’re on the right path.

Fashion is not just a skill. It is a calling.
And those who answer it with passion, will always stand out.

Every fabric carries a voice, and every style tells a story.

This outfit is more than just colors and stitches, it’s a celebration of identity, culture, and creativity. When I design, I don’t just think of how the dress will look, I think of how it will speak.

The harmony of red, black, and grey here reminds me that in life, different shades come together to form something beautiful. Boldness, calmness, and balance all woven into one fabric.

Fashion for me is not just about sewing; it’s about storytelling, confidence, and giving life to what was once plain material. That’s why at AE Dressxenxe, we don’t just make outfits, we make beauties that inspire.

So, whether it’s a corporate event, a cultural gathering, or a personal celebration, your outfit should always speak before you do.

Every outfit tells a story but the story begins long before the fabric touches the machine.

When people see a beautiful dress, they admire the colors, the fitting, and the elegance. But behind that masterpiece is a journey many don’t talk about.

For me, fashion design started not just as a career but as a passion I chose to nurture. From learning in a small local fashion shop, to working with one sewing machine in my home, and now running my own space, the process has taught me discipline, creativity, and resilience.

Every outfit begins with imagination, but imagination alone is not enough. You need:
• Patience to cut, re-cut, and sometimes start all over again.
• Skill to transform plain fabric into something people are proud to wear.
• Creativity to see beyond the obvious.
• Consistency to keep showing up, even on days when inspiration feels far away.

I decided to play with these two colors today, green and cream and they fit perfectly together. Because in my brand, we don’t just make outfits, we make beauties.

This tape around my neck is not just a tool it is a symbol of measurement, balance, and growth. It reminds me that life, like fashion, requires the right cuts, adjustments, and fittings before the final masterpiece is revealed.

To every young person out there chasing a dream: start small, stay consistent, and trust the process. Growth doesn’t happen overnight, but if you keep pushing, every stitch you make today will become the story someone else admires tomorrow.

This is more than fashion it is my story, my purpose, and my contribution.
