Why do some Christians get angry when another Christian creative says, “God inspired this”?

Honestly, I’m curious.

We readily accept that someone can say, “I was inspired by nature.”

“I saw a tree and it gave me an idea.”

“I heard a song and it inspired this design.”

“I saw something in the culture around me and it sparked an idea.”

But the moment someone says, “The Holy Spirit inspired me,” suddenly people want to interrogate the statement. 😂

Why?

God is the Creator.

If creation can inspire you, why is it so difficult to believe that the Creator Himself can inspire someone?

If God can give someone a song, an idea, a vision, a business concept, a message, or a creative direction, why must we assume that every creative idea has to come from something visible or tangible?

And no, I’m not saying every person who says “God told me” is automatically right. Discernment is important.

But discernment is different from cynicism.

Sometimes, maybe, we should simply allow another Christian to say:

“This was inspired by the Holy Spirit.”

You don't have to understand the inspiration for God to have given it.

God is still the source of creativity.

And I personally believe that when He inspires His children, He can do it in ways that are completely unique to them. ✨
