Tailor to Tailor π As a Trainer with an apprentice/apprentices this is for you... Simple
Techniques you can do to improve your Apprentice's learning skills.
1) Teach her patiently: Explain things calmly, especially when she makes mistakes. Some bosses doesn't send their apprentice all they know is they've collected money, If you learn your business if don't it's non of their business
2) Demonstrate before asking her to do it: Let her watch you perform a task correctly, then allow her to practice.
3) Give her practical work: Learning by doing helps an apprentice understand and remember better.
4) Start from the basics: Don't rush her into difficult tasks before she understands the foundation.
5) Correct her mistakes immediately: Explain what went wrong and show her the right way.
6) Allow her to ask questions: very important, make her comfortable enough to say, "Ma, I don't understand."
7) Give her small responsibilities: Gradually allow her to handle tasks on her own as her confidence improves.
8) Praise her progress: Recognize even small improvements. It can motivate to work harder.
9) Be firm but fair: Discipline is important, but correction should teach rather than discourage.
10) Repeat difficult lessons: If she doesn't understand something the first time, explain it differently and let her practice again.
11) Teach her to think, not just copy: Ask questions like, "Why did you do it this way?" So she understands the reason behind each step
12) Give her regular practice: Consistency helps turn what she has learned into a skill.
13) Avoid doing everything thing for her: Sometimes allow her to struggle a little and figure things out while you supervise.
14) Give constructive feedback: Tell her both she did well and she she needs to improve.
15) Set learning goals: For example, "This week, I want you to learn how to take measurements correctly and cut this style by yourself."
