My husband hired a maid... Who looks Just like Me 2️⃣

Written by ©️ Oluchi M. Okike

What if the maid in your house turned out to be your twin sister?

Angela couldn’t focus. Every time she walked past Margaret, it felt like she was walking past her reflection. But this reflection had its own life, its own story—and it didn’t add up.

She began digging. Not with suspicion, but with quiet desperation. Something deep in her spirit whispered that this was more than just resemblance. So she visited her mother.

Her mother, Mama Victoria, was in her late sixties, full of old secrets and selective memory. Angela brought her a bag of fruits and sat beside her on the old verandah.

“Mummy,” she began softly, “did you ever lose a baby?”

The question hit like cold water.

Her mother blinked. “What kind of question is that?”

Angela held her gaze. “Please. Just tell me the truth.”

Silence.

Mama Victoria’s hands trembled slightly as she adjusted her wrapper. Then, in a voice filled with weight and shame, she said, “It was after I gave birth to you. There was a second baby. You had a twin sister.”

Angela’s chest tightened. Her heartbeat sounded like a ticking clock in a tunnel.

“I didn’t have money to pay for the hospital bills. Your father was out of the country. I was helpless. A nurse… she offered to take the second baby in exchange for settling the bills. I was desperate. I agreed. I told everyone she died.”

Angela’s eyes filled with tears. “What was the baby’s name?”

“I never gave her one,” her mother whispered.

Angela stood up slowly. Everything felt unreal. The floor beneath her, the walls around her, even her own memories—they all shifted like broken glass being reassembled.

She returned home and stared at Margaret for a long time, watching her laugh faintly at a comedy skit on her phone. That same laugh Angela had. That same dimple on the left cheek. That same way of tilting the head when confused.

Copied.

My Husband Hired a Maid… Who Looks Exactly Like Me 1️⃣

Written by ©️ Oluchi M. Okike

What would you do if you walked into your kitchen… and found someone cooking in your house… someone who looked exactly like you? Same face. Same voice. Same smile. But you've never seen her before in your life.
This is the story of a woman who came back home—and met herself.

Angela had been away for just five days. A short trip to visit her sick father in Benin. Her husband, Kenneth, had insisted she go, promising to take care of everything back in Abuja. Angela was 35, a quiet and thoughtful teacher. Kenneth, her 40-year-old husband, was a businessman with a love for surprises.

He told her over the phone that he had arranged “something special” for her return. Angela assumed it was one of his usual romantic gestures. Maybe a homecooked meal, a new set of curtains, or flowers on the dining table.
But nothing could have prepared her for what she found instead.

The first thing Angela noticed when she stepped into the house was the smell—rich egusi soup with pounded yam. She smiled. Kenneth must have ordered from her favorite restaurant. But then she heard humming coming from the kitchen. A woman’s voice.

Angela quietly moved closer. The song… it was one she always hummed while cooking—an old church tune her mother used to sing. As she reached the kitchen door, her heart skipped.

The person cooking… was her.

Same face. Same height. Same hairstyle. Same white patch on the forehead.

Angela froze.

The woman turned around and nearly dropped the spoon from her hand. She looked just as shocked. They both stared at each other like two strangers looking into a mirror.

Angela staggered back, her breath heavy. What kind of prank was this?

Just then, Kenneth walked in, cheerful and relaxed. “Oh good,” he said, smiling. “You’ve met Margaret—our new maid. I hired her while you were away. She’s been very helpful.”

Angela was speechless. She couldn’t even look at him.

Margaret gave a small, nervous nod and quickly excused herself, disappearing into the hallway. Angela was left standing in the kitchen, her heart thumping so loud she could hear it in her ears.

She turned to Kenneth. “Did you not see her face?” she asked in a whisper.

Kenneth laughed. “Yes, she does look a little like you. Weird, right? I didn’t even notice until the second day. It’s just a coincidence.”

But Angela didn’t believe in coincidences. Not when the resemblance was this strong. She knew something was off.

That night, she lay beside her husband in silence, staring at the ceiling. A million questions rushed through her mind. Why did Margaret look like her? Was this a trap? Was Kenneth hiding something? Or was God trying to reveal something buried deep in her past?

The next morning, Angela quietly watched Margaret move around the kitchen. Her movements were familiar. Her voice… even the way she held the broom… it all felt too close to home.

Angela tried to start a conversation. “Where are you from?” she asked.

Margaret paused. “Lokoja,” she replied softly. “I grew up there. I don’t know much about my family. I was raised by a woman who found me as a baby in a hospital.”

Angela’s throat went dry.

She remembered her mother once telling her about a difficult delivery. But she was the only child. At least, that’s what she had always believed.

Angela couldn’t shake off the feeling that her life had just shifted.

And the more she stared at Margaret… the more her heart began to whisper something terrifying and beautiful at the same time:

This girl… might be your blood.

A man and his nagging wife were on holiday in Jerusalem, when the wife suddenly died. The funeral company told the man that it would cost $45,000 to ship her home or $500 to bury her in Jerusalem.

The husband said, “Ship her home.” Shocked, the undertaker asked, “But sir, why don’t you bury her in the Holy Land and save the money?” To which the husband replied, “A long time ago, a man was buried here and 3 days later, he rose from the dead….I can't take THAT RISK!”
