Here are some tips to avoid loses in your fashion business, nobody is gonna tell you this while learning that skill because nobody told us either but you know we don't gate keep here.
CALCULATE YOUR COST OF PRODUCTION : when been given a fabric to work on , subtract the cost of production from the selling price. it belongs to your business and it is totally different from your workmanship. Workmanship, time of labour, direct and indirect cost is also part of the cost of production.
EVERYONE IS NOT YOUR CUSTOMER: know this and know peace not all client are loyal, some are in search of cheapest bargain when they see someone cheaper than you they will leave you so hence, focus on giving value let them remember the quality for your job that makes you in control of your price.
LEAVE SENTIMENTS ALONE: I understand you are trying not to offend people but what is more offensive is putting your all into producing an outfit and you are feeling underpaid or undervalued. Let your price be your price regardless of who is asking.
STOP DISMISSING EXPENSES:let me tell you what you call random expenses adds gradually and it is eating up your profits as you keep ignoring them, that airtime you use in calling your client that delivery guy is on the way is part of expenses, the data you use to send styles or do online consultations for your customer is part of expenses.
GET THE PRICE RIGHT: price your goods and service properly with good sense of calculation, don't give the price of an outfit to a client if you are sure of the recent market price of materials and accessories. Reason why is because you might undercharge or over charge without a recent market survey.
