I Almost Lost ₦50,000 Worth of Goods Because of Just ₦100! 😳

Today has taught me a lesson I won't forget in a hurry.

A customer came to buy some thrift items worth almost ₦50,000. We agreed on the price, and everything was ready. Then the customer asked for ₦100 discount.

To be honest, I refused. In my mind, I felt, "Why should I remove ₦100 when I've already priced these items fairly?"

The customer smiled, thanked me, and was about to leave.
At that moment, it hit me...

Was I really about to lose a ₦50,000 sale because of ₦100?
I quickly called the customer back and agreed to the discount.

The customer paid happily and even promised to come back with friends.

That experience reminded me that sometimes, it's not about the ₦100. It's about building relationships, making customers feel valued, and securing the bigger opportunity.

As business owners, we should know when to stand our ground and when to be flexible. Every situation is different, but wisdom is knowing the difference.

Have you ever almost lost a big opportunity because of something very small? Share your experience in the comments. Let's learn from one another! 👇

Good morning my good people! 🌞

Every customer matters. Every sale matters. Every small step matters. Don't despise small beginnings. Great things often grow from small starts.

How to record your daily Profit.

All these 👇have to be in rows and columns

Date

Total Sales

Cost of Goods Sold

Expenses

Profit

Aug 26

₦20,000

₦12,000

₦2,000

₦6,000

How to calculate it

Profit = Total Sales − Cost of Goods − Expenses

For example:

You sold goods worth ₦20,000

Those goods originally cost you ₦12,000

You spent ₦2,000 on transport, packaging, etc.

₦20,000 − ₦12,000 − ₦2,000 = ₦6,000 profit

At the end of every day, record these 5 things:

💰 How much did I sell today?

📦 How much did the goods I sold cost me?

🚕 How much did I spend on the business today?

📈 How much profit did I make?

💵 How much cash is actually left?

Note: Don't record the money you used to restock as a business expense if you're calculating profit from individual sales. The cost of the goods you sold is already accounted for in your Cost of Goods Sold.

At the end of every 7 days or monthly depending on when you choose, add up all your daily profits. This gives you a much clearer picture of whether your business is actually making money.
