A LEGACY THAT DID NOT DIE:
Every brand has a beginning but I don't know about yours. Ours began with a man,a needle, and a dream.
In the late 1950s,my grandpa, late Pa Tailor Japheth Angela, was known as the first tailor in Sardauna LGA. With nothing but old tools, faith, and tireless hands,he clothed our fathers,mothers, and children. He sewed dignity, discipline, and hope into a community.
As his grandson,I grew up watching that legacy up close. Between 1997-2000,my elder brother Yohana and I were the ones who would take his freshly sewn fabrics to the market in Gembu every morning, and bring them back home in the evening. Those days taught me patience, hard work, and love for the craft before I even knew what "fashion"meant. In 2000, I left Gembu for Jalingo, but I carried that same dream with me to become a tailor like him to continue what he started.
26 years later, in 2026,by God's grace, that dream became reality through Chemfest Ventures & Son's Fashion Ltd. Though grandpa has been called to glory long ago,his legacy is not buried with him. It lives on. It is the model for this generation and next to come. Today, the tools have changed. The machines are modern. But the purpose remains the same: To serve people with excellence, integrity, and heart.
This is why CHEMFEST EXISTS. Not just to make fashion, but to honor a foundation. To prove that a man's work can outlive him if the next generation chooses to carry it. Grandpa,thank you for the path you cut. May your gentle soul continue to rest in peace with the Lord. Your hands may be gone, but your name and your work live on in us.
And to every fashion designer, tailor, and dreamer reading this: Don't give up. Your vision may start small. With old tools. In a small shop like ours. Carrying fabrics to market. But if you stay faithful, God and time will turn it into something bigger than you.
