What Dye to Use for Clothes?
Powder dye
The type of dye to use in Nigeria for clothes, fabrics, jeans, shoes, bags, and all dyeing materials is powder dye. You can use Powder dye;

in tie & dye and batik.
to improve faded clothes, fabrics and jeans colours.
to hide stains on clothes.
Powder dye is the native dye used in Nigeria and used by Dexter’s, awon alaro in making Adire designs. It is mixed with caustic soda, hydrosulphite and hot water to prepare the dye mixture use in dyeing. It reacts well with cotton, silk and cotton blends of 80% cotton.

Caring for adire fabric is important to ensure that it lasts for years to come. First, make sure to hand wash or machine wash the fabric on a gentle cycle with cold water. You can use a mild detergent, but avoid bleach or harsh chemicals. After washing, hang the fabric to dry in a cool, shaded area. Once the fabric is dry, iron it on the reverse side using a low heat setting. With proper care, your adire fabric will stay vibrant and beautiful for years to come.
