FASHION DESIGNERS VERSUS CUSTOMERS (PART 1)
The outcome of an outfit does not depend only on the fashion designer; you, the customer, also play a role. There are many factors that contribute to the final outcome of an outfit.
1. The Style Chosen vs. the Customer's Body Shape
Yes, I know we have body shapers and hip pads. Nevertheless, there are still certain dresses that suit certain body types better than others. So, when you want to make a dress and your fashion designer advises you to choose another style, don't just assume it's because the designer does not know how to make the dress.
2. The Style Chosen vs. the Choice of Fabric
Though this largely depends on the designer's level of knowledge, sometimes, as a customer, you may have already gone ahead and purchased your fabric because you want to cut costs. Usually, when you go to the market and show fabric vendors the style you want, they may end up giving you what they have available by either convincing you that it is the same fabric or telling you that it will work for the style.
For example, if you get bridal satin instead of duchess fabric, the two are not the same and can never give the same outcome. Therefore, as a customer, try consulting your designer about the style you want and the choice of fabric, even if you decide to purchase the fabric yourself. It will save your fashion designer the stress of working with whatever fabric you eventually bring for the style.
