We are reviving the reading culture among children, starting right from the home!

Have you ever been concerned as a parent that your child(ren) finds it difficult to read at home?

Reading can be fun, but children need to be gently guided on how to enjoy it. That is why we created this storybook, “When I Read at Home”—to teach children how to develop a strong reading culture in a simple, engaging, and relatable way.

And we need YOU, dear parents, to help bring this vision to life by getting a copy for your child.

This book can be used across:

At home

Absolutely correct! Reading distractions and fatigue aren’t limited to children, they affect adults too. We need to intentionally create reading time for ourselves and eliminate all forms of distractions 👌⚠️

Because good knowledge is food for the soul 😎😋 As a writer and someone who places high value on knowledge, I completely agree with this feedback 💯

Big thanks to our reader for this amazing insight 😍

I’m excited to share that I’ve received my US-printed copy of my new children’s book, When I Read at Home! 💃📚

Holding this book in my hands is deeply emotional. It reminds me of my humble beginnings; standing in shopping store car parks, introducing my books to families, and passionately sharing the value they could bring to their children. 🥹

Today, I’m grateful to say that the story has changed. My books are now on the shelves of nearly 20 stores across Nigeria, and also available on Amazon.

This particular copy was printed in the United States, Cleveland, OH, on the 19th of March 2026, making this moment even more special and memorable. 🇺🇸

This milestone is more than a personal achievement; it’s a testament to growth, consistency, and God’s grace. Only God can lift someone from the ground and place them in positions of honour. 💃

I am truly honoured to be part of a community of educational leaders creating impactful children’s books for both schools and homes.

I’m Esther Okoye, an African educational storybook creator on a mission to use storytelling as a tool to inspire positive change and provide solutions for children and families.

Please celebrate this milestone with me! 🎉

My time at the just concluded IWD 2026 event, organized by the and hosted by Access Bank, was nothing short of a deeply inspiring and transformative experience.

I couldn’t take my eyes off the powerful women of impact who graced the stage and shared their stories of victory—openly, sincerely, and without gatekeeping.

Some of my key takeaways:

📌As a woman building from the ground up and growing into who you desire to become, never see your cup as half empty; always see it as half full. You already have what it takes to start from where you are. Your story is powerful, don’t let anyone dilute or rewrite it.

These words were beautifully shared by

📌Another profound insight came from Ma , Oby Ezekwesili:
As a woman, never trade your values for anything. Let your values guide your choices in relationships, friendships, and every decision you make.

She also reminded us never to despise the family we come from. Our upbringing, shaped by different personalities and experiences, has contributed in one way or another to who we are today.

Whether educated or not, our mothers have significantly influenced the individuals we have become.

📌In this era where Artificial Intelligence is transforming the world, we must not lose our humanity. This is the time to refine and master our unique gifts, skills, and talents.

AI may get the work done faster, but it is our humanness, our authenticity and depth that truly sets us apart.

No woman should be limited by societal norms. When women rise, the nation thrives. We are ready to give value, to build, and to create wealth that impacts generations.

I cannot capture everything here, but I am deeply grateful to the and Access Bank for creating such a powerful platform, giving women access to wisdom, guidance, and inspiration from those who have gone ahead of us.

❤️They help us see what lies ahead and guide us so we don’t stumble but instead rise prepared.

📌A heartfelt thank you 💙

💃 A new month is upon us. Welcome, April 😊☺️

I'm beyond excited to share a huge milestone in my author’s journey!

My children’s storybook When I Read At Home, part of The Educational Safety Series (TESS), is now officially live on Amazon through Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing.

The journey started during my NYSC in Bauchi State, working in a small community school where I noticed children struggling with reading. That inspired my first book and sparked the creation of the TESS Mission — a series that empowers young scholars with literacy, positive learning habits, and personal safety lessons, all through the adventures of Ben & Bella.

When I Read At Home is already available in Jendol stores and now on Amazon, reaching children globally. This is just the beginning! More Educational Safety Tales are on the way, and we can’t wait to share them!

Hi! Meet Esther E. Okoye, the founder of ESTAR PUBLICATION and the creator of the TESS Mission. The Educational Safety Series (TESS) is a transformational collection of storybooks designed to help young scholars develop literacy, cognitive skills, positive learning habits, and essential personal safety awareness.

Each book follows Ben and Bella as they navigate everyday challenges at school and at home, teaching children how to read, tackle learning struggles, build confidence, make safe choices, and handle real-life situations responsibly. Perfect for children ages 5–10, these stories provide practical life lessons that empower kids to thrive academically and personally.

We are delighted to celebrate a major milestone in the TESS journey: When I Read At Home

is now published on Amazon KDP, marking the series’ official step into the global market. Already selling across Jendol stores, this achievement represents the expansion of our transformational storybooks from local impact to worldwide reach. We have a lineup of more Educational Safety Tales coming soon under the TESS mission, and we cannot wait to unveil them one after the other.

It's my birthday today! 😍🎂🎈

And it’s even more special because today women all over the world are celebrated on International Women's Day.

I’m excited for this next chapter of my life...

A chapter where I continue evolving into the woman I was created to be.

A chapter where I will keep giving in order to grow and gain.

Thank you, Lord, for the gift of life and for the opportunity to live, learn, and grow. 🪴

Happy birthday to me, and happy International Women’s Day! 🎈🎂❤️😍

It is because of our deep love for our readers that we continue to pour our hearts into books that leave them smiling from page to page.

While writing When I Read at Home, love was woven into every word and every line. My greatest desire was to see families intentionally support their children by building a strong reading culture at home. That vision shaped every chapter of this bright and meaningful book.

From me, my brand, and the spirit of love that inspires all we do, I wish you a beautiful and joy-filled Valentine’s Day.

Copies of When I Read at Home are available at Jendol Stores across Lagos.

I often hear parents say, “My child doesn’t like to read at home.”

Really? And what are we doing about it?

If they don’t read at home, when will they actually read?We need to join forces to support children’s reading at home. I cannot overemphasize this.

Reading at home plays a vital role in a child’s growth. It improves literacy skills, strengthens academic performance, and develops the brain’s ability to retain useful knowledge.

Please don’t leave your child on a screen for hours. Instead, intentionally direct them to read their books regularly. Set a specific reading time and create a safe, distraction-free environment for them.

You can also give them a copy of my new book, When I Read at Home, where they will learn the importance of safe reading rules at home, understand the process of reading with concentration, and discover practical habits that make reading easier and more enjoyable.

Let’s raise children who read with purpose and grow with confidence.
