If you missed Part 1 go back and watch it first. This one picks up right where we left off.
We were talking about something a lot of African mums in the UK have experienced but rarely say out loud.
The relationships that catch you off guard. The ones that feel familiar because they look like home. And the lessons that only experience could teach.
Part 2 gets even more honest.
Because the conversation does not end at be careful. It ends at be wise, be open, and still be willing to find your people. Because they exist.

Last month to this month has been a lot, but I am not in panic mode and honestly, that itself is a miracle.
There is a calm I cannot explain except to say God has gone ahead of me & whatever is waiting on the other side, He has already sorted it.
Isaiah 26:3 - perfect peace for those whose minds are stayed on Him. That is all I have to hold onto right now and it is enough.
If you are an African mum in the UK carrying a lot in silence right now, I pray this peace finds you today.
Comment peace if you know this feeling.

May came with its own challenges, but it also came with grace.

Some prayers are still waiting for answers. Some goals are still a work in progress. But looking back, I can see God’s hand in ways I almost missed while living through the month.

Not every blessing arrives as a breakthrough. Sometimes it comes as strength to keep going, peace in uncertainty, or the courage to start again.

Thank you, May, for the lessons.
Hello, June. 🤍

I share this not from bitterness but from wisdom.
Go in with your eyes open.
But here is what I also know, some of my most loyal, life-giving friendships are with African women right here in the UK.
So this is not about colour. It is about character.
We need each other.
Healed, whole African mums in the UK ,we are out here. And we are stronger together.

Somewhere in the middle of last month, doubt crept in and made itself comfortable.
I think a lot of African mums in the UK navigating this same journey? building something, raising children, trusting God with the parts that still feel uncertain, knows exactly what that feels like.
Then I stumbled on this scripture.
It doesn’t say I arm myself.
It doesn’t also say my strength or my plan makes the way perfect.
It says GOD does.
It is His strength at work in me, not mine.
I don’t have to carry this in my own strength.
Neither do you.
If you have felt this way lately, this word is for you today.
You are not alone.
You are helped & equipped by God.
He is making your way perfect.
Even the parts that still look messy.
Even the decisions that still feel uncertain.
Even the mountain you are standing on that does not yet look like a mountain.

My daughters have officially become the best free childminders in the UK.
Nobody told them that was part of the deal when God added a baby brother to this family.
Honestly though, this is one of those moments where I look at my three children together and think. God knew exactly what He was doing.
I didn’t plan for a baby at this stage. I wasn’t even asking. But He gave me one anyway.
And He gave me two big sisters who actually love being with him.
Who fight over who gets to feed him, play with him, carry him.
So yes. Half term. We love it here now.
African mums in the UK, who else is secretly winning this half term?
This is your sign to get a baby 😀

God is not only able to fill your cup & He is able to satisfy you, restore what felt wasted, and remove the shame you’ve been silently carrying.

Joel 2:26 is such a tender promise for every mum, woman, and believer who has been waiting for things to finally make sense.

Maybe this season has looked like survival mode, but God still says there will be abundance, there will be praise, and there will be no shame over your story.
Hold on, the same God who does wonders is still working in your life and in your home.
