As a fashion designer, I have learnt somethings in this line that can safe one from wahala. One of them is:
Managing fabric: Your client bring a style that requires 4 yards and begs u to MANAGE 3 yards. Hmm, after managing and it doesn't come out well he/she won't remember that the material was managed. I had a person experience with a lady. At the end of the day she was like I should have insisted on the actual yards not hers, I shock oo. Since then, if u bring a style and your fabric won't be enough u will change style oo. I no fit cut my finger because I dey manage...

As a fashion designer u need alot of patience. I remember when I was making this dress, my client wanted to use black as the upper part, black bawo and she was the queen of yellow House oo. Preaching started, Aunty abeg no spoil my handwork biko. Trust student na , if the black doesn't come out well na me them go blame, she wont tell them it was her choice. I had to convince her before she finally accepted..
During fitting nko, i asked aunty if she was okay with everything she said yes, my people, only for her to come collect the dress the next day and say the neckline was low, by this time it was Sunday evening, and the cloth was to be used on Monday. I did the adjustment and here's the final result.

She told me people loved the dress and were taking shot of the style..

At the end of the day it was worth the stress...
