In your bid to become great at marketing strategy, you need to first take the time to study
1. What successful strategy looks like
2. Failed strategies and why they failed to achieve the goal they set out to achieve.
Most people trying to get good at marketing strategy skip straight to “doing” and then wonder why nothing works.
Here’s the order that actually builds skill:
1. Study what worked. First study the reasoning behind it, then, the tactics and steps applied. This way, you will find understanding why the campaign converted, the hook landed, and why the offer sold?
But that is only step 1. Now…
2. Study what failed, and why. This is the step many people skip. Yet, failure teaches faster than successes only if you actually dissect it instead of scrolling past it. Like in studying successes you approach this asking “why?” WHy did it not succeed?…
3. Apply it — then iterate. Strategy isn’t a thing you learn by reading. It’s a thing you learn by testing, watching what happens, and adjusting.
