DISCIPLINE YOURSELF

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When the flesh is out of control, the future is also out of control.

Indiscipline or lack of self-control is a major enemy of distinction and destiny.

Lack of self- control made Reuben to sleep with his father’s wife and that made him totally useless in life.

Indiscipline or lack of self-control also made Esau to sell his birth right for a plate of food and that relegated him out of sight forever.

Indiscipline or uncontrolled appetite made Esau to lose his destiny for a temporary thing.
On the other hand, discipline or the capacity to say “No” to the wrong thing made Joseph to stand out in life. In Genesis 39:9, he said “No” to Potiphar’s wife when she made immoral advances towards him.

The lifestyle of discipline made Daniel to stand out. In Daniel 1:8, he said “No” to the king’s food. One of the greatest strengths of anybody is the capacity to say “no” to the wrong things and maintain dignity.

You must understand that when the flesh is out of control, the future is also out of control. A person that cannot successfully lead his life can never lead anything or anyone on earth.

Everyone is a leader; and leadership begins with leading oneself. Leading yourself is making yourself to do what you are meant to do when you are meant to do it. This is one of the greatest strengths of character. And the strength of character is what determines the weight of destiny.

People with weighty destiny have very strong character; people with weak character have light destiny.

For example, there some people had lost their jobs because of alcoholism. And you know, you don’t commit any serious thing to an alcoholic.

My counsel is, shun the lifestyle of indiscipline by all means. Bring your flesh under control and you shall fulfil your destiny.

Remember this: When the flesh is out of control, the future is also out of control.

ASSIGNMENT:
1. Make up your mind and put your flesh under control. Say “No” to the flesh.
2. Yield to the Holy Spirit so you can fulfil destiny.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive the grace to bring my flesh under subjection. Help me to yield totally to the Holy Spirit, Lord, in Jesus’ Name Amen .

HUMAN RESPONSIBILITY FOR DIVINE POSSIBLITY

SCRIPTURE: Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you… JAMES 4:8.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Every Word of God must be followed by the works of men to see the wonders of God.

It has been established that every divine possibility requires human responsibility. Where responsibilities are not embraced, possibilities are not experienced.

You must know that there is always cooperation between man and God for man to fulfil God’s purpose for his life.

You have a role to play in becoming what you were created to be on earth. There is a responsibility you must embrace to reach where you are destined to reach on earth.

To become what God has said about your life, there are things you must do.

James 4:8 says, ‘Draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you…’
When a man draws near to God, God, in turn, will draw near to him. It is a two-way system. Every divine provision has a human condition.

Unfortunately, many people today have left everything for God and have neglected their role in the fulfilment of their destinies. This is one reason why many are stagnant in life.

Many people have not reached God’s ordained plan for their lives because of their failure to take the responsibility or play their part in the actualization of their destiny. There must be a human involvement for the fulfilment of every divine agenda. Someone must take action in response to what God says in order to see manifestation. Every Word of God must be followed by the works of man to see the wonders of God.

Remember this: Every Word of God must be followed by the works of men to see the wonders of God.

ASSIGNMENT:
1. Make up your mind to take responsibilities for your destiny actualization.
2. Dissociate yourself from irresponsible people. Ask God for the grace to always take responsibility.

In order to stay on top of your business, you should read in at least one hour per day,
Underlining and taking good notes. Anything that less than one hour per day will put you in danger of being passed by your competitors.

When you wake up in the morning after praying, you should get a book to read atleast 30 to 60mins in something educational
Take careful note, Reflect on what you have learned and apply the new Ideas in your daily life.

From experince , this will dramatically increase the spead at which you learn, retain, and grow
If you read just one hour per day, that will amount to about one book per week. One book per week will amount to about 50books per year. Fifty books per year will total about 500books over the next 10years .
If you can cultivate the act of reading 1hour per day, you will become the best in your feild
You will become one of the smartest,best_ informed and most productive in your feild

UTILIZE GRACE, REJECT CARELESSNESS
2 Peter 1:10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure...
Years ago, I heard a quote that changed my life for good. It said," Where carelessness prevails, grace fails". While some may not agree with this, there are some examples in the Bible that we need to consider. First of all, Saul! Do you realize that God chose Saul? I've seen people claim that God planned for Saul to be destroyed from the beginning and I disagree strongly! (Read 1 Samuel 9-10). Study the life of Saul and you will discover that Saul was loved and chosen by God to be king, but he failed God. Men can fail God by carelessness and disobedience. God can invest so much in a person but by that person's careless and sinful actions, God may have to look for another and the grace bestowed will be wasted. Our opening verse says to give diligence to make your calling sure.
Say after me: I receive wisdom and grace to follow the Lord, reject carelessness, and fully utilize the grace of God on my life in Jesus Name 🙏

By age 11, she was married off.

By age 18, she was a mother of 4 kids.

She was beaten by her husband for wanting education.

She fed her children from the dustbin to survive.

She became Oprah Winfrey “All Time Favorite Guest”.

“THE STORY OF TERERAI”
Tererai grew up in a poor cattle rearing family in a remote village in Zimbabwe.

At age 11, she was married off and by the age of 18, she was already a mother to 4 kids.

Her brother showed her book and she couldn’t understand a word in it as she couldn’t read or write.
She taught herself how to read from her brothers books and from then all she wanted was to be educated.

Her husband found out she wanted an education badly, and instead of supporting her, discouraged her by always beating her or insulting her.

Her husbands friends supported him.
They said, “A woman’s place should be in the kitchen, she has no need for education”.

Her husband told her, she was worthless for wanting an education and she believed him.

But one day she met a woman who changed her life, an American called Jo Luck, former C.E.O of an N.G.O
Her N.G.O was Heifer International working to eradicate poverty and hunger in Africa.

They came to her village in Zimbabwe and she sat with Tererai and the village women in a circle.

She asked the women their dreams and they were all talking but Tererai kept quiet.
She noticed and asked Tererai, “What are your dreams?”

She replied, “My name is Tererai and I want an education”.

She looked at Tererai and said, “If you believe in your dreams, they’re achievable”

She used the word “TINOGONA” which means “ITS ACHIEVABLE” in Zimbabwe.
At that point, Tererai was pregnant with her 5th child with no education whatsoever.

How could this woman say my dream is achievable, she thought to herself.

But she was happy, someone believed in her dreams, so she ran home to her mother she met someone that believed in her.
Her mother told her to write down, then bury it so as to always remind her.

Her dreams were
1. To study in the United States
2. Get a bachelors degree
3. Get a masters
4. Get a Ph.D.

She wrote these down, wrapped it in a plastic, placed it in a can and buried it under a rock. Her mother encouraged her to break the cycle of poverty and illiteracy in their family and village.

She left her marriage and people called her a “Pariah” meaning an outcast and treated her as one.

She began her elementary school education and got a GRE certificate. She applied for a scholarship and got into the Oklahoma state university in the United States.

Her mother sold some cattle’s, some of the village women contributed some things and with that she left with 5kids to the US.

And it only got more difficult from there.
She worked 3 jobs in the US whilst going to school and yet it wasn’t enough to feed her kids as they became malnourished and had bleeding gums.

Sometimes they would go to bed hungry. She knew her children needed some fruits and vegetables but they were expensive. She went to a grocery shop and begged them for the left overs to feed her children and the store keeper refused.

He told her, he will be sued if anything happened to her children as a result of eating leftover fruits and vegetables.

She begged saying she needed to feed her kids.

The store keeper agreed and said, I won’t hand over these fruits to you but I will pack them in cartons and place them near the trash can.

But anytime she went to pick the fruits and vegetables, she would see the cartons inside the trash can with some of them mixed with dirt. She would pick them up, wash and then feed her children with it.

She had a dream but at this point, she was about giving up because she couldn’t watch her children suffer.

Her son cried and begged her mother to let them go back home because the suffering was just too much.
Then one day she was walking home defeated when a woman stopped her.

The woman said, “I think I know you” and she stood confused because she has met many white woman, so who is this?

The white woman insisted that she has met her before and that was when she remembered.
This Jo Luck, the woman that told her that her dreams were possible, the woman that told her “TINOGONA” in her remote village in Zimbabwe.

She ended up working at the headquarters of her N.G.O in Little Rock.

She bagged her BSc.
She bagged her Masters.
She bagged her PhD.
She achieved her dream and Oprah called her on her show where she shared her story.

Few years later, she called her back and asked her, what’s your dream now?

Tererai said, to build schools in her village and to educate children, Oprah donated £1.5million to help fund it.
Oprah said “Tererai is my all time favorite guest on my show”.

Oprah sent her media crew down to Zimbabwe to cover her story and from afar, they heard drums of villagers dancing to welcome their daughter, Tererai!!!

Tererai dug up the shallow grave where she buried her paper.

Her paper of dreams for all to see.

Today I say to you, YOUR DREAMS ARE VALID!!!

Today I say to you, TINOGONA!!!

It’s no coincidence that she met Jo Luck in US along the corridor but it’s divine, it’s all part of God’s plan.

Today she has a statue of herself in the US!!!
So I ask, do you have a dream?

A dream that looks too big?

A dream that looks impossible?

Write it down.
Make it very plain.
And work tirelessly towards it.
IT’S ACHIEVABLE!!!

And finally, as a mother, nurture and encourage your children’s dreams, don’t shut them down!
Tererai’s mother should be a role model to all mothers.

She encouraged her verbally.
She encouraged her financially by selling her cows to fund her dream.

Women don’t belong to the kitchen, they belong at the top wherever men are.

*God bless all men supporting their women*

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he:
Proverbs 23:7a

What you believe determines how you behave and affects what you become.

It has been established that your conviction determines your conclusion in life. What you believe determines how you behave and affects what you become.

You see, people of heavy conviction are people of heavy destiny, and people of little conviction are people of minimal destiny. In the same manner, people of zero conviction are people of zero destiny. It takes heavy matter to matter heavily.

There are people who pass through life without believing in anything. They live their lives to chance. Their slogan is, “Whatever will be, will be.” This is not how to live.

Do you know what I believe? I believe that I am relevant to this generation. I believe that I cannot be a mere spectator in life. I believe that I am in the arena for action. I believe that this generation cannot recover from the impact of my existence. I believe that I am a mobile tornado, a mobile volcano, a mobile revival. I believe that anywhere I step, something must happen. I believe that I am a voice a solution to many problems.I believe that I am a key to many doors that has been locked

George Whitefield was a very rugged preacher. He usually introduced himself to people this way, “I am George Whitefield. I came to preach to you, and I must be heard.” That is, “I am not begging you to listen to me. I am aware that you must listen to me.”

Beloved, what is your conviction? You must make up your mind that you will not be a failure in life. Make up your mind never to live as a failure or die without succeeding.

REMEMBER THIS: What you believe determines how you behave and affects what you become.

ASSIGNMENTS:

1. What do you believe about yourself? What is your conviction in life?

2. Spend time with the Word to know and believe what God says about you.

PRAYER: 🙏 Lord, I ask that You transform my mind-set. Help me Lord with a healthy conviction about my life and destiny so I can fulfill all that you have for me

Humility is a quality that is often valued but not always easy to cultivate. At its core, humility is a recognition of our own limitations and a willingness to learn from others. It involves putting aside our own ego and acknowledging that we don't have all the answers.

Humility can be a powerful tool for personal growth and development. When we are humble, we are more open to feedback and more willing to learn from our mistakes. It also helps us build stronger relationships with others, as we are more likely to listen and understand their perspectives.

However, humility does not mean we should undervalue ourselves or our abilities. It is important to recognize our strengths and accomplishments while also acknowledging that we are not perfect. By practicing humility, we can become more grounded and be able to handle life's challenges with grace and resilience.

STAYING FOCUS

Staying focused during challenging periods is an essential skill that empowers individuals to navigate through adversity effectively. In the face of difficulties, maintaining a clear sense of purpose and direction becomes paramount.

One strategy involves setting specific goals, breaking them down into manageable steps, and concentrating on one task at a time.

Cultivating mindfulness and practicing techniques like deep breathing can help alleviate stress and enhance concentration. Additionally, establishing a routine provides a structured framework that reinforces focus.

Surrounding oneself with a supportive network of friends, family, or mentors can offer encouragement and accountability.

Remember, acknowledging setbacks and practicing self-compassion is crucial. By staying focused amidst turmoil, individuals can harness their inner resilience, make better decisions, and work towards positive outcomes, emerging stronger from the challenges they face.
