Here are 5 tips that can help prevent your Ankara fabric from fading easily.
1. Do not wash with detergent.
Due to the harshness of detergent, it makes fabrics fade away easily, instead use a mild soap.
And most of these detergent brands have special ones for Ankara.
2. Do not leave in hot sun for too long.
For a while now, the sun has been intense. Therefore, leaving your fabric under the sun for too long will make it fade.
Also, don't wringle or twist after washing. This act compromises the rich color of the fabric and cause them to fade easily.
3. Hand wash your Ankara Fabric
It is recommended that you hand was your Ankara. Washing machines can be extra hard on the material and may ruin it.
4. Do not wash your Ankara every time you wear it.
As much as you can, avoid washing your Ankara everytime you wear it except it is compulsory.
5. Do test before washing.
To test if your Ankara would run or not. Dip a tiny part of it inside water for one or two minutes and squeeze it out.
If the water changes, then you would know that it's a running fabric.
