She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.

When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness.

She carefully watches everything in her household and suffers nothing from laziness.

I see a reflection of these verses in my life. I see it, and I am thankful for it! Thankful that I have a father who is so constant, I find it hypocritical to worry about the future. Thankful that the Holy Spirit keeps pruning and correcting me. Everyday. There’s something that can be said better, done better, approached better. He’s birthing excellence in all areas of my life, and I am so thankful.

I shared a sermon with the beautiful ladies at Potter’s Touch last year, it was titled, ‘The God within’. It focused primarily on the work God has done within us, and how a lot of the things we experience in our work with God plants is on a solid foundation. While that teaching was going on, I realized that that’s my life. You know how the wind blows, the storm comes, and that house that is built on a solid foundation remains? I realized that God had done a thing in my life whereby as life happens, through fears, worries and temptations, I stay rooted in Him. My convictions remain. And for that I am so grateful.
•
It is my prayer for anyone reading this that as life unfolds, nothing will ever be able to shake your convictions in Christ. I pray that you stay rooted in Him.

Child of God, Preach to yourself.
•
Don’t let whatever is going on overtake your convictions. This is the time for the countless hours of Bible study to count. If no one really understands how you feel, and so ‘it’s easy for them to say’, good thing is you understand, and so you can preach to yourself accordingly.
•
God is good and kind to me.
I can do all things through Christ that gives me strength.
Not that I am sufficient in myself, but my sufficiency is of God.
My help comes from God.

Encourage yourself in the Lord your God 💙

The truth is that I trust God. There’s too much assurance in His word to not trust Him. Deep down beneath all the worries and fears, is a deep seated trust in God that I’m never alone, and that God really has got me. Beneath every emotion that comes with a new disappointing news, is an assurance that there’d be something better, and this wasn’t good for me.

So why do I entertain the worries and fears at all? In a way, I think it gives me a sense of responsibility. If I’m worried about my current situation, it makes me feel like I’m doing something about it. How inaccurate.

Jesus says, Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? [Matthew 6:27]
Paul the Apostle says, Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done’ [Philippians 4:8]

So, as I type this, this is a reminder to me, that my worries actually serve no real purpose. In essence, I am better off letting go of all the worries and getting to that deep seated trust, and living life from there. Trusting fully in the divine providence of my Father.
… and this is where I choose to live from.

Pastor Iren’s wife (cause she said she loves to be called that 😍) said ‘The only place to be is in the center of the will of God’. And I felt personally attacked, cause have you ever known that it’s not okay to be in a place or to do something, but did it anyways?

Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God - Ephesians 4:1

We have a calling, and we have a duty to walk in that calling. I would keep striving for better. And you can too

I recently understood what it means for sin to lose its power over me. If you’re a ‘goody-goody’ like me, and you fidget over sin, it’s possible that just like me, you have begun to embrace your lifestyle as the qualification for your relationship with God

In a study of the book of Romans, I learned that the power of sin is in its ability to cause me GUILT and to bring SHAME. That really is what makes a person a slave to sin.

I however realized that true freedom is in believing the sacrifice of the cross that made me whole and justified me. And just like that, sin lost its power over me. Freedom from guilt and shame is proof of accepting the Grace that Christ makes available, and that in turn frees you to live a righteous life. It’s accepting that ‘nothing you do, or do not do’ is responsible for your righteousness, and so you have the power to live above sin.

I’ve been doing a study on the subject of LOVE since the 1st of the month, and I’ve learned a lot(You can find more details with the link in my bio)
One of which is Love is in action. You make a daily choice to act in love.

It’s not dependent on anything other than your decision to love. I started out with an intent to learn how to love from Love (God), but I’ve ended up learning so much much more about God, and his love for me.

I’m still learning, and in my actions daily, I’m learning to choose love. In my relation with the dispatch rider, the bank attendant, the bus passenger, my friends and my family. I choose love.

To the God that loves recklessly, the One whose response is always ‘I do not condemn you’, to the One who understands my feeble frame, and yet calls me the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. To the One who is always working in me and causing me to will and do of His good pleasure, to the One who assures me that everything is working for my good, I CHOOSE TO REMAIN in you.

I do not choose what is easier or more convenient/ comfortable. I choose You.
