“Stop Hiding Your Gift.”

My dear upcoming fashion designers,
I know what it means to be timid. I know what it means to sew something beautiful, then keep it hidden because you feel it’s not “good enough.” I have been there too.

But listen… a hidden talent is a wasted talent.
Your designs—especially those beautiful children wears—deserve to be seen.

✨ Start with one step today:
Snap that dress.
Record that cute children’s outfit.
Post it—even if your heart is shaking.

Your fear will shrink the moment you hit “upload.”

✨ A Message to My Fellow Upcoming Fashion Designers ✨

Recently, I attended a trade exhibition as a small business owner. Honestly, I wasn’t fully prepared, and this was only my second exhibition—the first was back in fashion school. But something in me said, “Just go. Try it.” I’m so grateful I obeyed that inner voice.

Even though I didn’t make sales on the spot, the experience was priceless. People loved my pieces so much that they questioned if I truly made them because they looked “already-made.” I answered questions until my throat was dry—but it was worth it.

From that one outing, I gained contacts, visibility, and even got a customer from my own neighborhood who wants baby clothes, kids’ outfits, and a bum short for her end-of-year party. All this—while my sitting room is still my sewing space!

This taught me something powerful, and this is the advice I want to give every upcoming designer:

💡 Always show up. Always seize every small opportunity.
You never know who is watching your work.
You never know who will fall in love with your creativity.
You never know which “small” event will bring your breakthrough.

💡 Don’t wait until everything is perfect.
You don’t need the fanciest booth or the biggest studio.
Start with what you have. Let your talent speak first.

💡 Let your work represent you boldly.
When people see quality, they will ask questions. They will remember you.
Your skills are your strongest advertisement.

💡 Visibility is a form of currency.
Even when you don’t make sales immediately, you are planting seeds—connections, trust, recognition.

If I had stayed home, I would have missed all these opportunities. So to every designer still doubting themselves:

Show up. Display your work. Tell your story. Sell your craft at every chance you get. Your next big break might be hidden in a small event you almost ignored.
