Your First Fitting Is Not Your Final Fitting
One mistake many people make is expecting a dress to fit perfectly the very first time it’s worn.
But that’s not how professional tailoring works.
The first fitting isn’t meant to produce perfection. It’s meant to reveal what needs to be adjusted.
Sometimes the waist needs to come in by half an inch.
Sometimes the shoulder needs a little lift.
Sometimes the hip needs a little more ease.
These are normal adjustments, not mistakes.
In fact, every experienced fashion designer knows that fitting is part of the design process.
That’s why I always tell clients not to panic during the first fitting.
Trust the process.
A well-made dress isn’t rushed; it’s refined.
The goal isn’t to finish quickly.
The goal is to make the dress fit beautifully.
