For the sake of knowledge,

It is possible for two different people to register the exact same name as a trademark, but only under specific conditions.
Trademark law is designed to prevent consumer confusion, not to grant absolute ownership of a word.
The key to whether you can register a name that is already taken depends on the "Likelihood of Confusion."
Different Industries.

The most common way two identical names coexist is when they operate in completely unrelated industries.

Example: There is Delta Airlines and Delta Faucets. Because one sells plane tickets and the other sells kitchen hardware. A consumer is unlikely to walk into an airport expecting to buy a kitchen sink. Etc…
