ADC ACCUSES GOVERNMENT OF LIP SERVICE TO THE YOUTHS

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has accused the Federal Government of paying lip service to youth inclusion and empowerment. According to the party's National Youth Leader, Balarabe Rufai, the government's actions contradict its claims of prioritizing youth development. Rufai cited the inadequate budget allocation to the Ministry of Youth and the ineffective implementation of the student loan scheme as evidence of the government's insincerity.

Rufai expressed confidence that the ADC's commitment to youth empowerment and inclusion would play a crucial role in unseating President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election. He highlighted the party's policy of allocating 40% of elected and appointed positions to young people, describing it as a pathway to genuine transformation.

The ADC National Youth Leader criticized the APC-led government's approach to youth empowerment, noting that even allocated funds were often used for administrative costs rather than direct youth welfare. Rufai emphasized the need for a new approach, stating that the ADC would prioritize participation, accountability, and youth empowerment.

The Coalition for Nigerian Youths in Politics (CONYIP) Convener, Nnamdi Ezemagu, commended the ADC for appointing a capable youth leader and urged other parties to prioritize youth inclusion in leadership. Ezemagu stated that Nigerian youths would only support parties that recognize and empower them.
