When I resumed last year at Prudential Fashion Academy, Egbeda branch I noticed few things;
I noticed how peaceful Egbeda is, her proximity to the airport and major markets in Lagos. They also have very reliable electricity supply.

I told God during the last crossover night that I want my first academy in Lagos to be situated at Egbeda because of the airport most especially and I want it before the end of my training at PFA.

I was told good accommodation is not easy to get in Lagos and it takes months to get one.
2 weeks to the end of my training at PFA I started looking for accommodation.

In 4days, I saw a perfect DUPLEX for Yetty Buttons Fashion Academy in Egbeda, Lagos. I was told they’ll get back to me if they will accept the building to be used as a fashion academy or not.

Remember It is written that "Every place on which the sole of your foot treads shall be yours... “

They said “YEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSS” 💃 💃 💃

Last week Monday, 16th of March which was our final project presentation day at PFA; i paid for the accommodation and all other attached expenses in Full.

I cried for joy; YETTY BUTTONS FASHION ACADEMY now has a branch in Lagos, Nigeria 🔈🤭🤭🥰

God came through for me in a very massive way.
It is still like a dream to me. God has shine his light upon me and he has gone before me, to make the crooked places straight.

God brought me this far & He held me too close.

MY FINAL PROJECT AT PRUDENTIAL FASHION ACADEMY

When we were asked to submit our sketch for approval i was so confused on the design i wanted to create. I wanted something feminine, soft and blooming… i wanted to create a masterpiece!

I submitted the sketch and it was approved. Did I tell you I got a 99% for my sketch🤭

Reality set in when it was time to bring the sketch to life. Hmmmm! A simple sketch with so much technical details.

The only thing I was so sure of from the onset was the colour… SEA GREEN 💯

I started with the bodice that has an inner corset.
I moved to the down part to create the cloudy effect on the tulle.
I went back to the draping. Oh! I thought the tulle with cloud effect was stressful until I started draping.

While draping i was happy, excited, angry, tired and also learnt more patience. At some point the only thing that gave me the morale to continue with the draping was the vision of the final result. A draping that takes hours, days and sleepless nights.
The draping was the most delicate part of the design because it comes from the center front through to the back without side joining.

The only part I enjoyed sewing was the bias stitches to the bodice😊 The clean seams were so therapeutic.

For the yoke beading, I sketched out a blooming flower which was used as the beading template. This is to signify my period of maximum growth and vigor.

A beautiful design needs the right model. I used a very tall model who is 6.1ft tall to bring my sketch to life. She was the perfect model for the design.

I was happy to work on this project because I acquired more drafting and sewing skills. I also learnt to be more patient.

Materials used:
➖100 yards of sea green tulle net.
➖Regilene and plastic boning.
➖4yards of Crepe fabric for skirt.
➖7yards of spandex fabric for the drapes.
➖Zipper
➖Eyelets
➖Less than 1yard of N**e illusion net.
➖Beads.
➖Crystals.
➖Art wire was used for the structures for flexibility.
➖About 15yards of hardnet for the petticoat.
Bias.
➖1yard of hairstay
➖Push up bra cup.

The past 24hours has been hectic. We’ve received so many messages and few phone calls regarding the registration deadline for March batch Online streetwears masterclass.

Since we don’t enroll students midway into the class, I came up with the idea of extending the registration deadline date till 9th of March before we close it finally.

I hope interested participants will be able to join this year before we finally withdraw the training from the internet for reasons best known to us.

Today I am so excited because this month will be the beginning of a great thing and the end of another one.

This month, I will round up my training from Prudential Fashion Academy… The end of my training at PFA🎉
This month, I will be training hundreds of designers in March batch ONLINE streetwears masterclass… The beginning of impacting more people 🙏🏾✨✨

I pray:

This month you will not labour in vain.
