Before you sew that beautiful outfit… stop! Let’s protect your fabric from fraying.”

📌 Use zigzag stitch… or an overlock machine if you have one.”

📌 If not, just fold and sew the edges neatly.”

📌 You can also use fabric glue, bias tape, or even French seams for a clean finish.”

📌 And don’t forget, always cut with sharp scissors and handle your fabric gently.”

Extra space between your stitch and fabric edge.

📌 Darts
Small folds that help clothes fit the body shape.

📌 Hem
Folded and sewn edge at the bottom of clothes.

📌 Basting (tacking)
Temporary stitches to hold fabric before final sewing.

📌 Notches
Small marks that help you match fabric pieces correctly.

📌 Bias
Diagonal fabric direction that stretches better and flows nicely.

📌 Interfacing & Lining
Interfacing = makes fabric stronger
Lining = inside fabric for neat finishing

📌 Overlocking & Grainline
Overlocking = stops fraying
Grainline = fabric direction for proper fit

Once you understand these, sewing becomes much easier
