Checking up on someone is a gentle act of obedience.
It’s listening for the nudge of the Spirit that says,
“Reach out. Ask. Care.”
It’s slowing down long enough to see people the way God sees them.
So here is me saying: how are you doing, friends?
Not just out of habit,
but from a heart shaped by Scripture—
“Let each of you look not only to your own interests,
but also to the interests of others” (Philippians 2:4).
The Bible reminds us that we were never created to walk alone.
We are called to carry one another,
to “bear each other’s burdens” (Galatians 6:2),
to show up with compassion that reflects Christ.
Care was never meant to be one-sided.
Love, in its truest form, flows both ways.
Reciprocation isn’t about keeping count—
it’s about living out “love your neighbor as yourself”
in the quiet, ordinary moments of checking in
and checking back.
And in a world that is busy, loud, and often disconnected,
choosing to ask,
choosing to respond,
choosing to be present
becomes a form of worship.
May we be people who notice,
people who remember,
people who reflect the love of Christ
by simply asking—and genuinely caring—
How are you?
