There’s a new ábďúçtíòn/kídnàp method happening in Abuja and Uyo (Akwa Ibom State).

👉 A stranger (usually a man) will pretend to know you, grab your arm, and loudly accuse you of being his wife/fiancée/sister who ran away.

👉 Sometimes, other people (even women) play along, saying “yes, this is how young girls behave.”

👉 Crowds (Keke men, bystanders) often dismiss it as a “domestic issue,” making it hard for victims to get help.

👉 The goal is to force the victim into their car, while people watch and do nothing.

👉Always carry an ID, so you can quickly prove who you are.

👉Never leave your phone behind, even for “quick errands.”

👉Shout specific details ,not just “leave me!” but “I DON’T KNOW THIS MAN, MY NAME IS [YOUR NAME], CHECK MY ID!”

👉Look for a neutral ally, shopkeepers, security, or passersby and hold on to them until safe.
👉Stay alert around tinted cars or strangers asking suspicious questions.

👉Educate others, many people still think this is just “husband and wife matter.” IT IS NOT.

⚠️ Please, let’s be more vigilant. If you see a woman (or anyone) screaming for help, don’t assume it’s “relationship drama.” It could be a life at stake.
