Meet Mama Iziaa❤️
Ever since I got married in 2021, she has been far more than my late mother-in-law’s friend—she has become a mother and a friend to me. Since I lost my mother-in-law, Mama Izie has never stopped checking on me. At her age, when many would expect to be the ones receiving care, she still makes out time to ask, “My daughter, how are you? Why do you look sad? What’s bothering you?”
She has a way of noticing when something isn’t right, even before I say a word. Just recently, she walked in after my husband and I had a disagreement. I was upset, but she sat with me, encouraged me, reminded me not to let anger steal my peace, and spoke life into my heart.
Now, let me confess… 😂 Mama Iziaa can talk! Once she starts, there’s no escaping until she’s poured out everything on her mind. But I’ve come to realize that’s one of the many things that makes her special. She simply wants someone to listen, someone who understands her. And somehow, we’ve found that comfort in each other.
It’s my joy to cook for her whenever I can. Sometimes I prepare two different meals just so I can send some to her. Seeing her smile is always worth it.
One thing I’ll never take for granted is her prayers. She constantly tells me, “I’m praying for you. I’m praying for your husband. God will bless your home. Your family will continue to grow.” Those words mean more than she probably knows.
Mama Iziaa, thank you for loving me like your own daughter. Thank you for your kindness, your wisdom, your endless prayers, and your unwavering presence. You are a beautiful reminder that motherhood isn’t only by birth—it is also by love, care, and sacrifice.
May God continue to strengthen you, preserve your life, reward every prayer you’ve prayed over us, and surround you with the same love you’ve so freely given to others.
