“It’s January na, they’re not busy, so no money.”

Well… they’re not completely wrong.
But they’re not completely right either.

Yes, January can be slow for some tailors—especially those without savings or a solid customer base. For them, the pressure is real. That’s when “make I just collect, see food chop” mentality enters. At that point, it’s no longer business; it’s survival mode.

But here’s the part many people miss:
Not every tailor is hungry in January.

Some tailors planned ahead. Some saved from the December rush. Some have loyal customers who still place orders regardless of the season. And some would rather rest than collect work that brings zero profit and plenty stress.

Because let’s be honest—
When the price barely covers transport, thread, light, and time, it’s not income. It’s just money exchanging hands. No gain. Only fatigue.
