Seven years ago, I fell in love with a man named Kendrick.
When I met him, he was broke, unemployed, and living with his brother-in-law. My family disapproved of him, but I believed in love, so I stood by him.
Shortly after, I got a nanny job in London. I thought it was an opportunity for both of us. For months I worked tirelessly, saving every penny, and eventually I processed his documents so he could join me.
We struggled together for five years, side by side, until things began to get better. We got our papers and started planning a family.
Then suddenly, Kendrick became obsessed with returning home to Africa to “supervise” the house project we were funding. His behavior made me suspicious.
Through his best friend, I discovered the truth: Kendrick had been sending our savings to another woman, secretly preparing to marry her. The same man I sacrificed everything for was planning a future with someone else.
My heart broke, but I refused to stay down. I decided to fight back. And ironically, I found love with his best friend — the same man who revealed his betrayal to me.
While Kendrick was preparing for his wedding, I was preparing for mine. On the very day he was saying “I do” to another woman, I was saying “I do” to his best friend in Lagos.
When our pictures surfaced online, Kendrick called me a hundred times. He even rushed to my husband’s family house, but it was too late.
Nine days later, I heard Kendrick suffered a stroke. His marriage collapsed, and today he lives in a care facility.
As for me, I’m happily married, blessed with children, and building the life I once dreamed of.
💔 Moral of the story:
Never betray a woman who truly loves you. She can be your greatest blessing… or your worst nightmare.
