"Het Amsterdamse ZeroAnce introduceert eerste zerowaste joggingpak

De Amsterdamse start-up ZeroAnce is er als eerste ter wereld in geslaagd een zero-waste joggingpak te produceren. Bij deze zerowaste manier van kledingdesign wordt helemaal geen stof weggegooid. Waar de reguliere industrie tussen de 10% en 30% van de stof wegsnijdt en weggooit, worden de patronen van de kleding binnen het zerowaste concept zo ontwikkeld en de stof zo ingelegd, dat 100% van de stof wordt gebruikt."

Did you know that an average drying-machine cycle produces around 1.8kg CO2? That means if all households with a tumble dryer dried one load of washing outside each week, instead of by machine, we could save over a million tonnes CO2 in a year! Added bonus: clothes last longer when you line dry because there’s less wear and tear than when you use the dryer.

Today it’s World Animal Day, or as we call it in The Netherlands “dierendag”. As a zero waste brand our purpose is to make great garments with minimal impact on the environment, so that all animals can have a healthy place to grow.

Shopping kills. It might sound a bit harsh, but it is the truth. Overconsumption is killing the planet, so how do we fix it? It’s simple. Buy less, buy better, love your garments and take good care of them. But the industry is also at fault, and changing the industry takes more than a few simple rules.

At ZeroAnce, we believe that you should lead by example, so we strive to make a product that is zero-waste, made from sustainable fabrics and lasts you a lifetime.

Unpacking samples is one of the most nerve-racking things. Are the colours okay, is the fit right, are the measurements correct? And then there’s the matter of personal taste. Do we like what we have created? This is the most important part, because we don’t want to put something out in the world if we don’t absolutely adore the product.

Luckily we are very happy with our first set of samples, and although some changes need to be made - we are one step closer to the perfect zero-waste tracksuit.
