This Christmas feels bittersweet. 🎄🤍

While we look back at our first Christmas with Jefta — tiny elf suit and candy canes — our hearts are heavy knowing that so many families around the world are facing unimaginable loss and injustice, in places like Gaza, Sudan, and Congo.
There isn’t much to celebrate globally, but we hold on to gratitude for the small, precious moments: being together, holding our loved ones close, and choosing kindness where we can.
May we enjoy what we have, without ever forgetting those who don’t.
Wishing warmth, love, and gentleness — today and every day.

Meet the parents behind Jefta’s Hodgepodge! 💇🏻‍♀️💘👨🏾‍🍳

Two people met in November 2020 — she from Groningen, he from Rotterdam. A fashion-minded hairdresser and a creative chef with an entrepreneurial spirit. ✨

Life’s too short to wait, so before long… baby Jefta was on the way! 👶🏽
He traded 010 for 020, and together they built a colorful life (and home) in Amsterdam.

While decorating the nursery, we noticed how beige and neutral everything in the baby stores looked — not really us. So we dusted off the sewing machine, started stitching, and brought some color into the baby world ourselves. 🎨

He made his first baby nest, she made a blanket — and just like that, the idea of Jefta’s Hodgepodge was born. 👣

🍁 Welcome and meet Jefta! 🍂

All cozy in his buggy, surrounded by autumn colours — the season that reminds us how beautiful change can be.

We’ve always loved bright colours and bold prints. But when we were expecting our son, we realised the baby industry was filled with beige, neutrals, and soft pastels. Shopping for his nursery left us a little uninspired — so we decided to bring our own colour to the world!

That’s how Jefta’s Hodgepodge was born.
Inspired by our baby boy, we dusted off the sewing machine and started creating cheerful, handmade items that reflect our love for colour, culture, and creativity. 🧵🪡
