As a new parent, it’s easy to feel like you should be able to do everything yourself. Looking back, I wish I’d accepted more help.

Whether it’s someone bringing dinner, doing a load of laundry, taking the dog for a walk, or simply holding the baby while you take a shower, it all makes a difference. Becoming new parents can be overwhelming and you don’t have to do it all alone 💕

Accepting help doesn’t mean you’re failing. It means you’re giving yourself the chance to recover and enjoy those first weeks a little more.

There’s a reason people say, ‘It takes a village to raise a child.’ 🤍

Here are a few things to keep in mind before posting photos or videos of your little one ⬇️

Public or Private Account? 👀

Is your account public or private? If your profile is public, think carefully about what you post. A video that’s funny today might be embarrassing for your child years from now.

Who Can See Your Posts? 👥

Are your followers only close family and friends or do you also have acquaintances? Or even people you don’t know?

Ask yourself: are you comfortable with these people being able to save or share photos of your child?

Think Before You Share ❌

Not every cute moment belongs online. For example, photos of your baby in the bath may seem innocent, but they’re usually better kept private.

Avoid Sharing Personal Information 🏠

Be careful not to reveal your home address, street name, or anything that could identify where your child lives, goes to daycare, or attends school.

It may not seem important, but combining your child’s full name with photos and other personal details can increase the risk of identity theft. Over time, it’s possible to build a detailed online profile from the information you share.
