The Hidden Jewel 💍
Amara was known for her bright laugh and quick wit. Everywhere she went, eyes followed her, not because of the way she dressed, but because of the light in her spirit. Yet one day, while preparing for a community gathering, she felt torn.
Her friends encouraged her to “show a little more skin” so she could stand out. “Nobody notices quiet girls,” one of them teased. Amara looked in the mirror, holding two dresses: one that hugged her figure, another that flowed gracefully. The first promised attention; the second reminded her of dignity.
She remembered her grandmother’s words:
“The jewel is most precious when it’s protected. If you leave it out for everyone, it loses its value. But when it’s kept safe, only those who truly cherish it will seek it out.”
That night, Amara chose the flowing dress. She walked into the gathering, radiant, not because of what she revealed, but because of what she refused to give away too cheaply. Her quiet confidence drew more respect than loud clothing ever could.
The lesson lingered:
Modesty is not about hiding, it’s about honoring yourself. It’s a crown placed on your head, a reminder that you are more than a body. You are a daughter of the Most High, a princess in His kingdom.
