In the high-altitude landscapes of Nepal, Saraswati manifests as the "Flowing One"—the purity of mountain glacial streams and the ancient intelligence of the Chyangra (Mountain Goats). These resilient beings survive the harshest winters, offering us the delicate fiber that sustains our High Mountain Lifestyle. However, as Global Warming thins our glaciers and shifts the rhythms of the peaks, our craft becomes a vital act of resistance and preservation.

We are proud to lead the Conscious Craft Movement by returning to the source:

100% Local Nepali Raw Material: Honoring the land that provides for us.

100% Handspun Thread: Every strand is a meditative prayer, preserving the rhythm of human touch.

100% Natural Dye: Using earth-born pigments to ensure our mountains remain untainted.

To us, craftsmanship is Mindfulness in motion. By choosing slow, intentional creation, we protect our landscape and the traditional wisdom of our ancestors.

We welcome all conscious living beings to join the Global Conscious Craft Community. Let us honor the Goddess by protecting the earth that inspires our art. Together, we can weave a future that is as sustainable as it is spiritual.

In Wisdom and Craft,

Prakash Bolakhe Aananda

Prakash Bolakhe

Conscious Craft Entrepreneur | Textile & Pashmina Visionary | Leadership Mentor | Cultural Preservationist

Executive Profile
Prakash Bolakhe is a third-generation Nepali textile professional whose work embodies conscious craftsmanship, ethical entrepreneurship, and service to community. With over 16 years of senior leadership experience across pashmina, cashmere, handicrafts, garments, education, tourism, and creative industries, he bridges ancestral artisan wisdom with modern global business practice.
He has built, managed, and scaled enterprises that honor artisans, protect natural systems, and meet international standards of quality and trade. His leadership integrates operational excellence, cultural stewardship, and values-led governance.

Ancestral Roots and Early Formation
Born in Panauti, Kavre, into a family of artisans, Prakash was shaped early by hands-on exposure to craft and nature. His grandfather worked with bamboo and rice stems, while his father balanced textile factory management with lifelong social service.
As a child, Prakash accompanied his grandfather into forests to gather materials, learning that craft is a relationship between nature, human skill, and time. As a teenager, he visited textile factories across Kathmandu with his father, absorbing practical lessons in production systems, worker management, and quality control. The charkha – the spinning wheel – revealed to him the meditative, conscious nature of handcrafted work, forming the philosophical foundation of his career.

Education and Professional Grounding
Prakash strengthened lived experience with formal education:
Master of Public Administration (MPA) – Tribhuvan University (CGPA 3.24)
Bachelor in Business Studies (BBS) – Tribhuvan University
+2 Management – First Division
School Leaving Certificate (SLC) – First Division
This grounding provided governance insight, systems thinking, and management discipline.

Industry Leadership and Enterprise Building
Professional Foundations
Prakash began as a Computer Science Teacher at Himalayan Academy, developing communication and mentoring skills. He then joined Himali Pashmina Udhyog (Golyan Group) as Operations Manager, gaining deep experience in production, exports, customs, accounts, and international client coordination 2012-2013.

Executive Leadership
From 2013–2015, Prakash served as General Manager and CEO of ShangriLa Knit Industries, overseeing production, exports, finance, HR, R&D, and banking instruments (LC, TT). He aligned operational detail with strategic vision while meeting international market demands.
Founder and Managing Director – Castello Cashmere Industries

Castello Cashmere stands as proof of his ability to translate values into viable enterprises.

These roles ensure continuity of Nepal’s textile heritage and youth empowerment.

WooliiE and MERE – Co-founder Director (Nepal, Germany, USA)
He has represented Nepal at international trade fairs across China, Malaysia, India, and SAARC nations, and completed the Emerging Leader Program at the University of San Diego (USA).

Creative and Cultural Leadership
Prakash is also recognised as a cultural curator and designer, having contributed to more than 30 fashion shows, festivals, and cultural events. His work bridges contemporary design with traditional Nepali identity.

Founder Vision – Lomanthang Cashmere
Lomanthang Cashmere emerged as a values-led initiative inspired by the ancient walled city of Upper Mustang, historically a crossroads of trade, culture, and spirituality.
Through direct engagement with Himalayan Chyangra goat farmers, Prakash witnessed the realities of climate vulnerability and fragile ecosystems. Lomanthang Cashmere was founded to stand alongside farmers and artisans, ensuring dignity, continuity, and ecological balance from the very beginning of the supply chain.
The brand embodies a Sustainable Farm to Conscious Fashion philosophy, committed to 100 percent Nepali fibers, natural dyeing, handmade processes, and long-term stewardship.

Core Philosophy and Forward Path
Prakash Bolakhe’s guiding belief remains clear:
True entrepreneurship is not extraction – it is service.
He continues to lead conscious craft enterprises, mentor emerging leaders, preserve Nepal’s textile heritage, and build ethical fashion ecosystems rooted in sustainability, spirituality, and social impact.
For supporters, Prakash represents trust earned through lived experience, integrity demonstrated through action, and a future-oriented vision grounded in service to people, culture, and planet.

Lo Manthang: A Living Testament to Nepali Himalayan Culture and Heritage

Lo Manthang, located in Nepal’s Mustang district, stands as one of the most significant cultural and historical centers in the Himalayas. Situated at an altitude of around 3,800 meters, this ancient walled city is a rare and powerful reflection of Tibetan-influenced Nepali Himalayan culture, preserving centuries-old traditions, art, and way of life.

1. Cultural and Historical Importance
Founded in the 14th century by King Ame Pal, Lo Manthang was the capital of the former Kingdom of Lo. The city's majestic earthen walls and fortress-like architecture still protect its centuries-old monasteries, royal palace, and traditional homes, offering a glimpse into a unique and enduring Himalayan civilization.

The five-story royal palace, ancient monasteries like Jampa Lhakhang, Thubchen Lhakhang, and Chhoede Monastery, are not only religious sanctuaries but also living museums of Tibetan Buddhist architecture, murals, scriptures, and symbols.

These structures serve as rare surviving examples of Himalayan Buddhist culture blended with Nepali craftsmanship and spiritual philosophy.

2. Religion and Rituals
Life in Lo Manthang is deeply interwoven with Buddhism. The people of the region, known as Lopa (or Lobas), practice rituals and teachings passed down through generations. Spiritual traditions are not confined to monasteries but permeate daily life—from prayer flags fluttering in the wind to daily chants and community ceremonies.

The most famous event is the Tiji Festival, a three-day sacred celebration in May that showcases traditional masked dances. It depicts the victory of good (Dorje Jono) over evil spirits, symbolizing spiritual protection and harmony.

Festivals like Lhosar (Tibetan New Year) and religious pilgrimages further embed Lo Manthang within the spiritual fabric of the Nepali Himalayas.

3. Himalayan Way of Life and Traditional Skills
Like many remote Himalayan communities, the people of Lo Manthang have developed a lifestyle of resilience and harmony with nature. Their livelihoods rely on agriculture, pastoralism, and traditional handicrafts.

A significant part of local life revolves around raising Chyangra (Himalayan mountain goats), known for producing some of the world’s finest cashmere wool / pashmina.

Lo Manthang's artisans handcraft items like wool textiles, metalwork, and spiritual thangka paintings, each infused with generations of inherited skill and spiritual meaning.

4. Lomanthang Cashmere: Bridging Heritage with Sustainable Luxury
Lomanthang Cashmere, a brand inspired by this rich Himalayan heritage, is redefining how traditional knowledge and natural resources can create sustainable, ethical fashion. Drawing its name and inspiration from the region, the brand sources cashmere directly from local Chyangra goats while empowering local communities.

With a focus on sustainability, fair trade, and cultural preservation, Lomanthang Cashmere collaborates with local governments, farmers, and industry bodies to build ethical supply chains.

Their commitment extends beyond fashion. Through the Meaningful Education Foundation – Nepal (MEF-Nepal), they invest in education and skill development, helping uplift Himalayan communities from within.

In Conclusion
Lo Manthang is more than a historic city—it is a living expression of Nepali Himalayan culture, where spirituality, art, and tradition continue to thrive. Its people, practices, and built heritage reflect a deep cultural memory that still pulses through the region today.

By honoring this heritage and sharing its stories through products like those from Lomanthang Cashmere, Nepal is not only preserving its cultural identity but also offering it to the world in a meaningful, sustainable way.
