Ancellm is a relatively new brand hailing from Japan with a unique focus on material processing. Much of the brands offerings focus on their vintage processing techniques to create modern garments with a lived in feel. Their signature half zip silhouette is cut from a soft but substantial cotton fleece, with side gussets and elastic ribbing akin to vintage sportswear garments. The fabric has undergone a heavy wash and potassium spray to create a unique colouration, with hand distressing applied throughout.

The era of Helmut Lang that spanned the late 90s and early 2000s was mythical. Utilitarianism and minimalism, in response to the shift towards maximalism by the large fashion houses, have resulted in garments that are sought after not only for collection but also for adornment. This windbreaker from the late 90s exemplifies both utility and restraint. Smooth brown polyester, with raglan sleeves and a vented yoke. Zippered pocket on the external and internal chest. An internal strap allows the jacket to be slung across when not being worn, and it also it packs away into the pocket for easy storage.

Cyclical as fashion is, it is rare that a piece from yesteryear can be surplanted in modern day without a single tweak, but Prada has done just that. A square toed, slim silhouette crafted as a sporty evolution of the driving loafer, and a continuation of the Linea Rossa line, Prada re-released their iconic MonteCarlo sneaker this year, 20 years after it’s runway debut. Here we have the original article, in immaculate condition from the mid 2000s. Much higher quality than the reissue, the sculptural and fluid pannelling is executed in a rich brown leather, contrasted with internal tan leather lining and gum outsole. Linea rossa branding at the tongue and heel.
