We have been working on a quilted Kimono & hats made from repurposed vintage jeans, the small offcuts of which are now patched into heavy duty oven mitts by Thawil ––– a dedicated member of a migrant women’s quilting group here in Auckland :)

Thanks to all of you who continue as you can to support small / local / social business like Companion. From next week we are back up & running with posting pieces i.e our Painted Pew.

S L O W design: Vintage Japanese print silk scarf that was first embellished with painting in Tonga using a plant based pigment in the style & manner applied to Tapa, Cook Island Tivaivai, & embroidery contributions from the Afghan Sewing Group in Auckland –– eventually emerged as x2 (differing) hats!
