This week, I signed a contract for a cozy apartment with a big green balcony in a city that still feels new to me.
I don’t have the keys yet. I haven’t moved in. It’s still just a decision on paper. But even that felt significant.
New country.
New chapter.
A full-speed job that stretches me in ways I secretly asked for.
At 42, I’ve learned something about change.
It looks bold from the outside.
It feels tender on the inside.
There’s always that quiet space in between, where you’ve stepped forward, but your feet haven’t quite found the ground yet.
And here’s what I’m certain about now;
We don’t do our best work in constant survival mode.
We don’t create our best ideas from anxiety.
We don’t lead well when we feel internally unsafe.
My most productive self lives in her comfort zone.
Not the stagnant kind, the aligned kind.
The kind built on self-trust, clarity, and emotional steadiness.
So yes, I take the leap.
But I also rebuild my sense of safety, again and again.
New routines.
New rhythms.
New gyms, new drink orders!😉
New spaces that feel like home before they technically are.
Growth, for me, isn’t about living outside your comfort zone forever.
It’s about having the wisdom to create a new one, wherever life places you.
I’m doing that now. Quietly. Intentionally.
And yes… with a little fun along the way.😊
