Friday done right. ☀️🎣
Marley requested a fishing mission first thing this morning, and we all know (if possible) I’m never going to say no to that. 😄
Armed with some Salty Dog salted bonito bait, we headed down to the wharf for a couple of hours. A few small snapper, a trev, some piper and a decent kahawai kept us entertained, and that kahawai didn’t last long once it hit the plate as sashimi. 🤤
One thing I love about the salted bait is how handy it is. Whether you’re travelling, camping, staying at the bach or just don’t have room in the freezer, you can keep it stored out of the sun and it’s ready to go when you are.
The fish love it too, and when you’re fishing with kids, it’s a winner because it stays on the hook really well, meaning less time rebaiting and more time actually fishing.
Nothing fancy, just a good morning on the water, fresh kai and a reminder of how lucky we are to live in Northland.
Who’s heading out for a fish this weekend?
