Kia ora and welcome to this space!
My name is Kayla, and I have recently moved to Tāmaki Makaurau/ Auckland, and am based on the North Shore in Torbay. I am so excited to meet members of the community, and be able to offer my sewing skills and creative services.
It is an undeniable fact that we are interwoven with nature, we are a part of the whole, and I am so grateful for the beauty and diversity that we get to live amongst.

A bit about Me and the Environment:
How can I take responsibility for my impact on the environment? On a personal level I have been able to get to the stage where I am making my own oat milk, not eating meat or dairy, buying my dry goods from a refillery (I use Good For in Auckland, a native tree is planted for every purchase made!) and fresh produce bag-less. I buy second hand for probably 95% of what I own, buy NZ made as much as possible, and am doing what I can as a gardener, planting trees, working on soil health and growing our own food.
A bit about Kayla Made and the Environment:
As a business I intend to mend textile based items that may otherwise end up in the landfill, and create long lasting garments from second hand fabric. I collect good quality pre-loved haberdashery, such as thread, zips, buttons and fabric to use with customers, and for my up-cycled fashion label which is in the works! I would love to work with clients as locally as possible to reduce carbon emissions through travel.
The seed for Kayla Made was planted some time ago, and I look forward to watching it grow. And the many connections to be made
