Poppetto unique handcrafted dolls & toys After the arrival of her daughter she wanted to make unique toys for babies and children that weren't mass produced.

Created by Jo Ablett-Hampson after returning to New Zealand from a 3 year posting in Tonga (middle of nowhere, south pacific)

During her time in Tonga Jo taught herself to handsew small toys from socks and gloves, developed a love for colour, patterns, embroidery and all things crafty. So Jo bought a sewing machine, taught herself to use it and produced many many dolls and toys. With a bit of enc

ouragement and a lot of courage she applied for a stall at a lovely local craft fair in Wellington, New Zealand. ALL THE DOLLS sold, lots of lovely feedback received and she had orders for many more. This led to the opening of poppetto online and stalls at more craft fairs and the rest is history.
