“You’re so lucky you get to homeschool.”

And sometimes, I really do feel lucky. 🤍

But there’s another side people don’t always see.

The days I’m tired before lessons even begin.

The plans that don’t go as planned.

The quiet worry of
*** Am I doing enough for them? ***

The choosing and re-choosing of books, lessons, habits, and what is truly worth their time.

I didn’t choose homeschooling because I thought it would be easy.

I chose it because I wanted to be present for these little years.

To give them time to wonder.
To notice.
To read good stories.
To know Allah SWT.
To grow in character, not just knowledge.

And some days, I do all of that beautifully.

Other days, we read one story and call it enough.

Because these children are not a project I need to perfect.

They are an AMANAH.

So I keep learning too.
I keep adjusting.
I keep praying.
I keep showing up.

And when tomorrow comes, we begin again.

Not perfectly.

Just faithfully. 🌿🤍

There is something so beautiful about a child’s little world. 🌷

A princess can live in a seashell.
A tiny fairy can dance among the flowers.
A mermaid can have the most wonderful adventures.
And somehow, an ordinary afternoon becomes a whole new world.

Sometimes we get so caught up in teaching our children what they need to know that we forget to leave room for them to simply wonder.

To imagine.
To create.
To play.
To be curious about the little things.

And perhaps that, too, is part of a beautiful childhood.

We don’t have to fill every moment with lessons.

Sometimes, we can simply sit beside them and say,

“Tell me about your little world.” 🤍

Because childhood passes quietly.

And one day, we may miss these little worlds they once invited us into.

May we build homes where our children have room to learn, room to wonder, and room to grow with Allah at the heart of it all. 🌿

Maybe this is one of the quiet blessings of homeschooling. 🤍

Sometimes I think I’m teaching my children, only to realize that Allah is inviting me to learn again, too.

To relearn the stories of our Prophets.
To revisit the words and meanings of our deen.
To remember things I may have once learned but have forgotten.
And to discover things I never knew before.

Alhamdulillah for homeschooling. 🥹❤️
It gives me the opportunity to sit beside my children and experience the joy of learning our deen together... not as someone who knows everything, but as a mother who is also continuously learning, growing, and trying to become better.

Perhaps this is my own quiet calling:
to keep learning, to keep returning, and to keep growing closer to Allah.

And what a beautiful thing it is to learn something with your children today, knowing that perhaps one day, they’ll carry those lessons in their hearts and remember that Mama learned it with them, too. 🤍

Alhamdulillah for the little moments that teach us more than we realize. 🌿
