My eldest son had an accident few days ago, he broke his bone while playing. At first I was outraged seeing him crying his heart out how painful his leg was. But later said to me,”Can you please pray for me? “. The anger, the guilt slowly subsided. How Can a kid like him, who was in definite pain, asks me for help to pray for him? He immediately calmed down when we were praying together.
And then days passed while we were in the hospital, I remembered during the Parent orientation in his school, what is our priority as a parent, is it a kid na academically and school na has flying colors, or a kid that we will prepare for Jesus and heaven?
In this world full of pride, boasts achievements and the prestige instilled in students for enrolling in the school, we often forget the greater purpose why we were living. His school taught him to be more prayerful, to be faithful in times of troubles, na in every scary situation he is in the emergency and hospital, he asks to pray and pray. Actually mas mag pray pa siya kesa sa akin, even reminding me not to sleep without praying.
It made me realize na choosing a school most especially today’s current situation, we need to consider first the values we wanted to instill to our kids kung na align ba sa inyo family, kay sometimes we just choose schools because of prestige but often overlook how can a school shape their values also. Imagine, a school can influence your kids to be prideful just being in the school or section.
Being a parent is a different level of responsibility jud. I just pray to God na my kids will not depart from what they know na wrong and right. Please Guide us always,God🙏
Thank you to Teacher Cha for praying always for my son’s recovery. There will always be comfort in asking God’s guidance.
The parenting role is still long, but hopefully we will make it right in the eyes of our Savior, Jesus Christ🙏
