𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗦𝗙𝗜𝗚𝗨𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗟𝗢𝗥𝗗
Lent | Second Sunday

On the mountain, Jesus is revealed in glory. Light surrounds Him. The disciples are given a glimpse of who He truly is, not to remain in comfort, but to be strengthened for what lies ahead.

Beside Him stand Moses and Elijah, men long gone from earthly life, yet fully alive in God’s presence. What is revealed is not only Christ’s glory, but the promise that life in God does not end in death.

This moment does not remove the Cross. It prepares the heart to face it.

The Father speaks clearly, “This is my beloved Son… listen to Him.” In the midst of awe and fear, the call is not to stay on the mountain, but to trust. To follow even when the path descends back into suffering and uncertainty.

Lent reminds us that God sometimes allows us to see the light, not as a destination, but as a promise, that obedience leads to life, and faithfulness is never lost in Him.

𝗧𝗘𝗠𝗣𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗜𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗗𝗘𝗦𝗘𝗥𝗧
Lent | First Sunday

In the desert, Jesus faced temptation not in isolation, but in trust. The Father was not absent. The light of God remained with Him, even as He stood before hunger, trial, and the subtle voice of compromise.

Before Calvary, there was already a foreshadowing. The Cross lay ahead.

Christ did not choose comfort. He chose obedience. He chose the Father’s will, even when it led toward suffering.

Lent begins the same way for us. We stand in our own deserts. We confront our own temptations. And like Him, we are invited to choose obedience over flesh, surrender over self.

The Cross may stand before us, but we do not face it alone.

May this season strengthen us to choose Him again and again.

𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗟𝗔𝗗𝗬 𝗢𝗙 𝗟𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗗𝗘𝗦
Memorial | February 11

Today, the Church remembers the apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary to St. Bernadette Soubirous in Lourdes in 1858. In a hidden grotto, Our Lady appeared to a young girl of humility and simplicity. Heaven chose what was small to reveal what was holy.

During one of the apparitions, Mary declared, “𝙄 𝙖𝙢 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙄𝙢𝙢𝙖𝙘𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙥𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣.” In those words, she affirmed the grace given to her from the beginning and pointed the world back to the saving work of her Son.

A spring of water flowed from that place, and many experienced healing. Yet Lourdes speaks of more than physical cures. It reveals a God who draws close to the suffering and who meets us in places of weakness with mercy.

This memorial, also observed as the 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗗𝗮𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗶𝗰𝗸, invites us to pray for those who carry illness, pain, or hidden burdens. In every condition of life, grace is never absent. The Lord remains near.

𝗦𝗧 𝗦𝗖𝗛𝗢𝗟𝗔𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗖𝗔

Today, the Church celebrates the 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝘁. 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮, honoring a life shaped not by public preaching, but by quiet fidelity and deep love for God. Her feast reminds us that holiness is not measured by visibility, but by intimacy with the Lord.

St. Scholastica was the twin sister of St. Benedict and the founder of the Benedictine nuns. While her brother is remembered for shaping monastic life through rule and structure, Scholastica embodied its heart. Her life was rooted in prayer, community, and total trust in God’s will. Tradition tells of her final meeting with Benedict, where her desire to continue speaking of God was answered not by argument, but by prayer. God responded with a storm, reminding us that love grounded in prayer carries great power.

Her story teaches us that contemplation is not an escape from the world, but a way of loving God more deeply within it. In silence and stillness, she shows us that faith grows when we remain attentive to the presence of God and open to His grace.

St. Scholastica reminds us that when prayer flows from love, it is never unheard. In choosing to dwell with God, she invites us to do the same, trusting that even the quietest faith can move heaven.

𝗦𝗮𝗹𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗵. 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱.

In the ordinary rhythm of our days, Christ reveals who we are called to be. Not for display, but for purpose. Not to draw attention to ourselves, but to quietly shape the world through kindness, humility, and faithfulness.

To be salt is to give flavor without seeking notice.
To be light is to serve without needing recognition.

Salt kept in a container remains unchanged, but it fulfills nothing. In the same way, faith is meant to be lived and shared, not hidden away.

As our lives begin to give light, the hope is never that others see us, but that they encounter the Lord through what we do.

This calling is not a label we hold.
It is a way of life we are invited to live.

𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗟𝗢𝗥𝗗
Feast Day | February 2

Today we celebrate the 𝗙𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝗿𝗱, a moment of quiet obedience and fulfilled promise. Mary and Joseph bring Jesus to the Temple, not to make Him known, but to offer Him fully to the Father. What appears ordinary becomes sacred through faithfulness.

In the Temple, Simeon recognizes what many do not. He sees not just a child, but the salvation prepared for all peoples. A light revealed not through power or spectacle, but through trust and patience. God arrives gently, and those who are attentive recognize Him.

The Presentation reminds us that faith often begins in offering. In bringing what we have and who we are before God, we allow Him to reveal His purpose. In the silence of surrender, light is made known.

“𝙁𝙤𝙧 𝙢𝙮 𝙚𝙮𝙚𝙨 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙨𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙨𝙖𝙡𝙫𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣.”—Luke 2:30

𝗜 𝗔𝗠 𝗖𝗛𝗢𝗦𝗘𝗡𝗧

Chosen is not the destination.
It is the beginning of a life poured out in love and service.

Before we are sent, we are first chosen by grace.
And when we truly understand that we belong to Him, being sent becomes a response of the heart.
