The Philippine National Police (PNP), through the Highway Patrol Group–Special Operations Division (HPG-SOD), arrested five individuals during a law enforcement operation in Caloocan City on Friday, May 8, 2026.

The operation was conducted along A. Mabini Street, Barangay Maypajo, following intelligence information on an alleged failed robbery attempt involving armed individuals reportedly targeting a condominium unit inside Habito Residence.

Operatives from HPG-SOD, in coordination with other police units, immediately responded to the report, which led to the interception and arrest of the suspects.

PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. emphasized that accountability applies to all individuals, regardless of previous affiliation with the organization.

The PNP reiterated its commitment to uphold the rule of law and ensure that all law enforcement operations are conducted professionally, with due regard for human rights and public safety.

“Unity between the police and the community builds stronger trust and cooperation.

JOINT PNP-DSWD OPERATION RESCUES 3 MINORS IN CAVITE; FOREIGN NATIONAL FACES RAPS

Three minor girls were safely rescued while a foreign national was arrested during a joint law enforcement and social welfare operation conducted by the Philippine National Police (PNP), through the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), in Naic, Cavite on May 6, 2026, following reports of alleged child abuse and unlawful withholding of minors.

The operation was carried out by personnel of the CIDG Cavite Provincial Field Unit, together with social workers from the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office and the Naic Municipal Police Station, inside a compound in Barangay Sabang.

Authorities arrested a 41-year-old American national known by the alias “Ameer,” who was reportedly keeping the minors under his custody and allegedly preventing them from returning to their family. Initial investigation also disclosed allegations of sexual abuse involving the rescued minors and other children previously staying in the area.

The case stemmed from a complaint made by the children’s mother, an overseas Filipino worker, who sought government assistance after learning about the situation of her daughters. Two of the minors were reportedly able to leave the compound and seek help, which eventually led to the rescue operation.

The rescued minors were immediately turned over to social welfare authorities for proper care, assessment, and intervention, while criminal charges are being prepared against the suspect.

Chief PNP, PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., commended the operating units and partner agencies for their swift and coordinated response.

We assure the public that the PNP will continue to work closely with concerned agencies to safeguard children and support victims,” PGen Nartatez said.

He also emphasized that the PNP remains firm yet careful in handling cases involving minors to ensure that the rights and welfare of victims are protected throughout the investigation.

This operation is in line with the PNP Focused Agenda on Enhanced Managing Police Operations and supports the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to strengthen the protection of vulnerable sectors, especially children.

The PNP, together with the DSWD and partner agencies, continues to urge the public to report cases involving abuse and exploitation of minors as part of the Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.
