CIFAW 2025 | JAKI PEÑALOSA – Featured Designer Spotlight | The 9th Annual Calgary International Fashion & Arts Week presents “ HOME “ The First Philippine Fashion Weekend.

Hailed as the grand dame of Ilonggo fashion, Jaki’s journey is a powerful reminder that age, like culture, is not a limitation but a legacy. At 64, she continues to bring Philippine fabrics to the global stage with grace, depth, and soul. From the runways of Iloilo to London Fashion Week’s House of iKons, her designs have carried the stories of her people, woven into every thread of hablon, callado, and embroidery.
Her latest CIFAW collection is no exception. Inspired by the women who trust her with their most memorable moments, she has created pieces that are both feminine and fiercely resilient, clothing that lets you wear your roots with pride.
Jaki says, “This year, I’ve created something that makes one wear their culture… through silhouettes that speak of strength, and earth tones that highlight the art of Filipino craftsmanship.”

This year’s CIFAW 2025, in Partnership with The Marriott Moments A-Fair Luxuriant Expo, will be held on July 26–27 at the Marriott Grand Ballroom, Manila. The event marks a first with its Philippine Fashion Weekend themed “Home” a celebration of roots, resilience, and national pride.
